Some Nights - Chapter Nine
We all stood in the middle of the training grounds, near 3 posts. Kakashi placed down a clock on one of the posts, setting it for a certain time. I believe it was for around 1:00.
"I've set this alarm to go off at 1:00." Kakashi explains, leaving everyone confused.
"I have here two small bells...", he continues. "Your challenge is to steal these from me before the timer sounds. Anyone who fails... doesn't get any lunch. Instead, you will be tied to that tree stump, so I can eat your lunch in front of you."
Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke all look pretty low on power. I snicker to myself - they really believed him that they could not eat. They all seem to be regretting listening to their sensei; loud stomach growls fill the air.
Kakashi holds the bells closer in our direction. "All you need is just one bell... apiece. But since there aren't enough to go around, one of you is definitely headed for the stump. ... And whoever that is will be the first of you to fail. One of you is on your way back to school... and disgrace."
Everyone's attitudes got really serious. Sakura looks panicked, her glance keeps focusing on Sasuke. Sasuke looks ready to steal one of the bells. Very ambitious to pass much? Naruto looks worried, and a little concerned. I know that he barely made it out of there - he doesn't seem to have much confidence in himself.
Kakashi suddently pulls the bells into his palms, closing his hand. "You may, if you choose, use shuriken. Attack as though you mean to kill or you'll never stand a chance."
"But..." Sakura throws her arms out in a panic. "But that's so dangerous!"
Naruto throws his arms behind his head and laughs. "You couldn't even dodge an eraser!! You're gonna get yourself killed!"
Kakashi sighs and looks at Naruto. "Only the weak speak loudly. Now, let's forget the dunce, and we'll start on my signal!"
Naruto seems to be very infuriated by the word 'dunce'. He quickly grabs a kunai out of his holster and charges at Kakashi. Everyone seems to panic - Sakura and Sasuke have no idea what to do. Kakashi quickly pulls Naurto's hand back behind his head and holds Naruto's head in place. Kakashi currently has Naruto in a bad situation. He begins to sweat, not sure of what to do.
"Not so fast." Kakashi murmurs, standing at about twice Naruto's height. "I didn't say 'go'."
Sakura and Sasuke seem to be highly impressed with Kakashi's skill level. Obviously they've never seen a Jónin fight before. Sasuke seems to be analyzing Kakashi's skill, smirking softly.
"But at least you struck to kill... So, it seems you've begun to respect me." Kakashi laughs softly. "Maybe... just maybe. I'm starting to like you four. And now... ready.. GO!!!"

We all sped off into our hiding spots. Sasuke behind a thick group of bushes, Sakura under a bush, as I was currently hiding in a tree. Kakashi stands in the middle of the training ground, scanning for us. He seems to be impressed until a certian someone isn't actually hidden.
You probably guessed it! Naruto is standing proudly in the middle of the field, that determined smirk plastered on his face. He quickly reties his headband and searches eagerly for something. "It's time for the match to begin! Hey, Kakashi-sensei! Come out, let's fight like real men!"
I facepalm. The guts this kid has inside of him.. and the stupidity. This test is meant to be a test of skill in many fields, not just fighting. Otherwise, we wouldn't have hid, and I would currently be coaxing Naruto into the bushes. But this is every man for himself here.
