CHAPTER ELEVEN – Aftermath.

The next morning I awoke, fully satisfied beside Aaron under the blanket by the dorm. He was asleep with his arm around me. I snuggled myself into his side as I heard the dorm door open. I closed my eyes hoping that whoever it was wouldn’t try to disturb us. “Check it our Carly,” I heard my Mum say. “Nothing’s changed.” I heard the click of a lighter and a breath inhaled deeply. I smiled as I buried my head deeper into his side. His smell was intense. It was a mixture of damp earth and Lynx. I loved his smell. I wanted to lay there with him forever.

He awoke as I pushed my hair out my face. “Good morning beautiful,” He said stretching his arms and shaking his hair. “Happy birthday,” he smiled and ran his fingers threw his short black hair. He wrapped his masculine arms tightly around me. My breaths became short and fast as he kissed my forehead. “I love you,” I now spoke those words to him with confidence. “I love you too beautiful,” I smiled while I dug my face into his chest. “I never want to lose you,” he smiled. I assume. He sat up and stretched a bit more. “C’mon, time for breakfast.” I pulled myself up and stretched my back. He disappeared inside the dorm and came out with a gift. It was wrapped in silver paper with a pink ribbon creating a bow on the top. He passed it to me and I examined it. I smiled and looked up at him. “What’s this?” I asked as he moved closer to me, “Your birthday present.” He smiled and kissed me so passionately I thought I was going to faint. He pulled away and looked at the gift. I looked down at it and began to unwrap it.

The ribbon and silver wrapping fell to the floor to reveal a jumper and a box. I put the box on the table and chucked the jumper over my head. It was black and had a few random things scrawled on the front. It was three sizes too big for me, but I didn’t care. I inhaled deeply and smelt it. It smelt like Aaron; damp earth and Lynx. At that moment I realised it wasn’t new. I looked up at him. “I love it,” I said wrapping my arms in the sleeves. The jumper covered my shorts and was too long in the sleeve but I really didn’t care. “It’s my favourite jumper. I want you to have it.” I smiled and hugged him tight. “Thank you,” I whispered.

“You forgot this,” He said grabbing the box off the table. I smiled, “Oh,” I took the palm sized box and held it in my hand. It was black and a white ribbon rimmed it. I pulled at the ribbon and let it fall to the floor. I opened the little black box and gasped. “It’s absolutely beautiful!” I exclaimed, staring down at my lovely new piece of jewellery. “White gold,” he said grinning. There was a heart pendant attached to the small chain. “Flip it,” Aaron motioned, pointing to the pendant. I gently lifted it and turned it to the back. He had engraved a message in it that read ; All my Love, Aaron

My eyes began to swell up as a single tear fell from my eye. “This is more than amazing Aaron. Thankyou so so much.” He took the box off me and took the necklace out. “Turn around” he said, unclipping the catch. I did as I was told ad he put the necklace over my head and clipped it on at the back. I admired it, on my pale skin. I turned back to face him. He pulled me closer and kissed me on the cheek. “I love you Melissa, you're incredible.” I bit my lip. He put his fist under my chin and lifted it so I was face to face with him. He pecked my lightly on the lips before I threw my arms around him and begged him for more in expressions.

Best.
