CHAPTER FOUR – Reminiscence
I wanted to kiss him so bad, but I just couldn’t. The last time I almost got kissed was kindy 1999. Antonio Smith tried and I threw paint in his face. It wasn’t until I met Aaron, I realised I wanted all my firsts to be with him. “So you seeing someone?” he asked with doubtful eyes. “Negative,” I said shaking my head. “It’s been a few years.” He chuckled. “That’s absurd! I swear you're the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen!” I shyly blushed and looked down. “No one really talks to me. Only my friend Lora and occasionally a teacher. I'm invisible. At that point I was laying beside him on the grass. Looking at the clouds move and change shape. I laid my head on his chest and listened to his heartbeat like a hammer against cloth. “I’ve waited a long time to feel like this again,” he said, wrapping his arms tighter around my body. He pulled me closer and kissed me. Softly, but enough to send tingles all throughout my body.
A laugh came from behind us. I looked up and saw Greg. “Trust this! We leave for two minutes and you're already attempting to get it on!” he laughed harder at his joke. “I'm just grabbing the reefers.” I’d just realised I’d had my first kiss at 16. Sad and deprived, but totally worth the wait. I ran my fingers through the grass as Aaron sat up. “Wanna go for a walk?” he asked, wanting more assured privacy, he beared his hand at me waiting for me to take it. “Anywhere with you,” I said, not realising until after how cheesy it was. He dismissed it by saying “that’s cute,” and pulling me up. We walked for hours. He told me he hadn’t dated anyone recently and was looking for ‘the someone’. “Aw yeah,” I replied. I smiled at him while I glanced at my feet, watching where I was walking.
When we arrived home it was dark and everyone was asleep. Aaron walked behind me in the dark holding my hand. His room was across from mine. Greg and the boys shared a room and Mum and Dad had a room across from Rob and Carly. “See ya’ tomorrow” I said opening the door. He stopped me and spun me around. He kissed me passionately before giving me a tight hug. Once again I could hear his heartbeat, like a jungle drum up close. “Sleep well,” he whispered. I then walked into my room and closed the door. I fell to the floor. I had butterflies in my stomach and my head was going one hundred faster than it usually did. My palms were sweaty and my knees were weak. I had shivers running throughout my body as I tried to gape for breath. He had literally left my breathless. I walked over to my bed and jumped in, reminiscing about the day and it’s events.
I really liked this guy.
