CHAPTER FOURTEEN - Cheat?
We wandered back to the dorm and sat around the table. I looked at my watch, 6:07pm. I looked at my Mother with hopeful eyes, that we mighten be able to stay just a little bit longer. My phone buzzed on the table. 'One new message' appeared on the screen, 'HE CHEATED' lit in large abusive letters. Emmi had text me, and considering it was in capital letters, she was pretty upset. I hit dial immediately and excused myself from the table. Emmi answered, sniffing and sounded absolutely broken. "H-Hello?" she asked, "Emmi, what happened?" I asked. She told me all about Kael and how he'd cheated on her with on Gemma Slook, the captain of the cheerleaders at school. In rage, I asked her for Kaels number and hung up instantly. She sent me his number and I hit dial. "Whos this?" a voice came from the other line. He sounded seemingly down for someone who had just gotten with a cheerleader. "Your worst nightmare!" I screeched into the phone. "HOW DARE YOU CHEAT ON EMMI YOU DIRTY RAT! YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'VE DONE!" he seemed to wobble the phone. "I didn't I swear. Look, I don't know who you are, or if you'll believe me, but I swear on my life I didn't. Gemma is rank, I wouldnt touch her with a ten foot pole. I love Emmi, my bestmate has the hots for her, and started this rumour so we'd break up" I smiled into the phone, realizing that all Emmi had said about him on my birthday to me was true. He was one in a million. "I believe you," I said. "I'll fix this." "No," Kael spat. "I have to do it myself. Thanks stranger, for believing me and shiz." he then hung up. I texted Emmi immediately, telling her not to worry. She text back instantly. "Kael called, all is good. IOU x"
I was glad it wasn't true, Emmi deserves to be happy in the arms of an amazing guy who loves her unconditionally, like I'm sure Kael does. And will do forever.
They were meant to be.
