Delilah was trying to figure out where to hide the boots when she heard the door open. She tossed them into the bathroom and shut the door. She fell back on the bed and pulled out her phone. Cole appeared a few seconds later. He leaned against the doorframe. "What are you doin?"

"Tweeting about how mean my husband is."

"I'm not mean to you. Just because I tell you no every once in a blue moon doesn't make me mean, Lila." Cole rolled his eyes.

"Yes it does. I just wanted one thing. And you told me no."

"One thing that you have fifteen pairs of."

"Still...."

"Would it make it up to you if I told you I changed my mind and will buy you the shoes?"

She swallowed hard. "I don't want them now."

"Why not?" Cole crossed to the bathroom and her heart skipped a beat.

"What are you doin?"

"Why don't you want the shoes, Lila?"

"Because I don't..."

Cole opened the door and saw the boots on the floor. He picked them up and turned to her. "Maybe because Luke already bought them for you?" He tossed them on the floor in front of her.

She knew she was in trouble. "I just told him that..."

"You told him I was busy and you didn't want to interrupt me." Cole crossed his arms. "You didn't bother to tell him I told you no."

She knew he was mad at her. She stood up and pulled his arms down. She pulled at his tee shirt. "Ok... I shouldn't have told him that.... Please don't be mad at me. I hate it when you're mad.... I'm sorry." She kissed his jaw then pressed little kisses up to his mouth. "Please." She whispered.

Cole felt his resolve weakening. He couldn't stay mad at her even if he tried. She was so cute when she was trying to get out of things. She was sweet and sassy but she was all his and he wouldn't trade her for anything.

"You have to stop doin that." He said softly.

"What?" She was kissing his neck and his body was on fire. "This? Or buying shoes?"

"Both." Cole wrapped his arms around her and pulled her against him. "But mainly what you're doin right now. It's the middle of the day and people are outside."

She grinned against his skin. "I can't help it. My husband is incredibly sexy and just being around him does something to me...." She breathed against his neck.

Cole bent his head and caught her mouth. "You're lucky you're so damn beautiful, Lila Marie... I can't stay mad at you."

"Hmmm." She wrapped her arms around his neck. "I am sorry. But can I keep the boots?"

Cole rolled his eyes. "Yes. You can keep the boots but you're payin your brother back and apologizing to him."

"Ok." She hugged him close. "I love you."

"I love you too." He kissed her again. Her hands slid up the back of his shirt. "Seriously... there are people outside."

"I know..." She sighed against his lips. "You are so tempting, Mr. Swindell."

"You're not so bad yourself, Mrs. Swindell."

"Raincheck?" She ran her hands over his chest.

"You can count on it. In fact,. We have a couple of days off after this.... how about we go down to the beach? Or wherever you want." He leaned his head against hers.
