"Kate, listen to me. I do not know of this arrangement and Stella is like a kid sister to me!"

Kate looked at me with tearful eyes and nodded.

"You trust me right?"

"That is why I am here"

"Okay then let us go and clear up this mess because I am not letting you go anywhere. I love you babe." I said as I kissed her forehead.

I helped her in the passenger seat and started driving back home. Mom and dad have some question to answer. I do not know what I would do if they actually knew about all of this. I was so angry right now that I was literally seeing red.

I felt Kate reach out and caress my hand and then I realized I was clutching the steering wheel so hard that my knuckled had gone white. We reached and I threw open the main door and stood in the foyer.

"Mom! Dad!!! Come down!!" I yelled and Kate gripped my hand harder, her entire frame tensed.

"Jayson, what is going on?" Dad said as he came down followed by Mom and a stumbling Kiara.

"Jay, is everything okay?" Mom asked

"What is Katherine doing here with you?" Dad asked as he took in our appearance and our interlinked hands.

"The Campbell's want Kate to leave this city." I said, trying to control my temper.

"Kate is an adult she can make her own choices and it is their personal family matter" Dad said with a confused look.

"They want her to leave this city because we are in relation and this is apparently coming in between a small arrangement that you both had with them"

"What are you saying Jay?" Mom asked.

"You guys planned with them to get Stella and me married when she came of age for the sake of the companies!" I yelled

"Eww.." Kiara exclaimed from behind.

"This is complete rubbish son! You know your mother and I would never force such a thing upon you and we know Stella is like a kid sister for you and she is too young!" Dad said as he ran his hand through his hairs, obviously taken aback by this.

"So you both know nothing about this?" I asked

"Of course not! You know our company is iron strong. We don't need marriages of convenience and I would never do this to my son even if I was going bankrupt!" Dad exclaimed

"There has been a misunderstanding dear" Mom said.

"No mom. This is not a misunderstanding. They planned on this. No wonder the whole family is invited and insisted to visit every family function they host and I am asked to come over at odd times for no reason. This is really pathetic." I growled as I hugged Kate closer to my side.

"We can discuss this in the morning, it is quite late now." Dad said

"Yes. Kate honey, stay here for the night and then we can sort this out in the morning" Mom said

"Okay" I said. I knew this all had taken a toll on Kate and she needed the rest.

We headed upstairs and my mom grabbed my hand.

"I am happy for you Jay" she said as she walked by and headed to her room with dad. I smiled and entered my room.

"How are you feeling?" I asked Kate as I closed the door and faced her.

"Tired"

I went up to her and tucked her into my bed.

"Sleep, I am here, love" I said as I kissed her.

I lay down next to her and pulled her close to me. Soon I also fell asleep.

The next morning I woke up and found the bed empty. I sat up and looked around for Kate. I freshened up and went downstairs.

There I saw Kate helping mom with breakfast.

"Good morning" I said as I sat down on the table with dad.

Dad smirked at me.

"What?" I asked as I poured myself a glass of juice.

Dad just raised his eyebrow at me and continued reading the newspaper.

We all sat down for breakfast.

"So, what have you decided upon?" Dad asked.

"I don't know. I really don't want to go to their house and try to sort this out because I know I will end up doing something that I will regret" I said.

"They need to know where Kate is" Mom said

"No they don't. "

"Jayson..." Dad tried to reason with me.

"Look, I am going back to Boston tomorrow and Kate is coming with me. We are moving in together" I said as Kate looked at me with a shocked expression

"Don't you think you both are taking this a little too fast son?" Dad asked

"No. I know what I am doing."

I reached for Kate's hand and gave it a squeeze of reassurance. She was my life now and I would do anything to keep her safe and with me.

"But you should talk to them once." Mom said

"I—" I was cut off by banging on the front door.

Dad shot me a look and went to answer the door.

"Marc what is going on!? Your boy is fooling around with my niece! Do you even know how worried we were this morning when saw that Kate was not home!?"

"Andrew...calm down. We can talk this out. Kate knows what she is doing. She can very well make her own decisions."

"Don't defend your stupid son!" Mr. Campbell yelled.

I wanted to knock him out. Why was he behaving like we were some runaway teens?

"I will not stand you calling my son stupid under my roof! If he is so  then why are you so keen on getting your only daughter married to him huh? Answer me! You are playing with your daughter's life, that is your problem but I will not let you meddle around with Jayson's life." Dad said in a steady low voice.

"What the hell are you talking about?" Mr. Campbell growled.

"I am talking about what you said to Kate last night, about us being in agreement to have our kids married. I have never agreed to such a thing and I never will. Both Jayson and Kate are happy with one another, so let them be." Dad said as he held open the front door as an indication for Mr. Campbell to leave.

"Katherine, come back home." He said glaring at her.

I took her hand and stepped forward.

"She is not going anywhere. We are leaving for Boston tomorrow morning." I said with finality in my voice.

"You all going to regret this" He said as he looked at all of us one last time and stormed out.
