"What do you mean, it was a set up?!" Eric's hands were laying against the counter, supporting him as he leaned over across it in what appeared to be (heavens sake, the good boy could express such an emotion) anger; enraptured by what I had told him.
"You heard me, dumbass." I scowled. "It was a set up. If he hadn't practically handed my 'get away free' card, I'd be a well done 5 foot long slab of charred flesh right now."
"So, you're saying he just...let you go?" He asked.
"What else would I be saying, fucktard?" I snapped.Eric opened his mouth to reply before simply shaking his head.
"So," Thomas cut in from beside me. "What're we going to do?"
Eric sighed and massaged his forehead with his hand. "I'm not so sure. It's almost like he let you catch onto the fact he had some sort of plan. I think he's just toying with us." He observed thoughtfully.
"Wow, no shit. Tell me more, Captain Obvious." I said sarcastically, my voice lacking enthusiasm."I'm trying over here." The boy scowled at me in irritation.
I rolled my eyes. "And I say you're being a dumbass. The best thing we can do in this situation is wait for him to slip up or just stay the hell away from him and wait it out."
"And what kind of solution is that?" Eric questioned.
"Well, a pretty good one." I said defensively. "Most of the time, my logic of ignoring a problem until it eventually just goes away works out pretty well."Thomas surprised me as he nodded. "For once, Ace's sad excuse for common sense checks out. There's nothing we can really do in this situation unless you want to launch a frontal attack. And, according to Ace, this guy is pretty tough."
"Yeah, even I have to say he handed me my ass on a silver platter." I agreed. "It sucked ass."
Vanessa nodded and Leah spoke up. "I gotta agree with everyone else. It looks like you're outvoted, Eric."Eric frowned, watching us all in concern. "But what if..." His voice trailed. "What if something bad-"
"Maybe you need to start signing your name as Eric William Hart, Paranoid Dickwad on all your legal documents." I interrupted him. "Don't be a pansy."
"I'm not being a pansy." Eric said defensively.
"What do you call your actions as of now?" I asked. "Certainly not ballsy, I'll tell ya that.""Ace, you do realize you have not lived here as long as me and you have not been in this business as long as me. You do not know everything there is to know about the supernatural." He attempted to reason with me.
"Yeah. That's true." I gave a curt nod. "But, what I do know about is cunning assholes who like to use people and how to keep myself alive. In this situation, that's two things that would prove useful."
"One." He corrected.
"One?" I asked.
"You can't just worry about keeping yourself alive. You have to keep everyone else alive, too."Well, damn Mr. Do-Gooder. Does it look like I could give a shit about you or any of your precious little Goodie-Gang?
Let's get one thing clear.
I.
Did.
Not.
Care.
About.
Them.I didn't.
I didn't.
No way in hell. This is why I'm writing this story from my perspective.
So you little dipshit readers can understand that nothing is about those damn hunters and their stupid goal to solve world peace and end hunger.
This is about me.
Me and my willingness to survive.
Me and my almighty awesomeness.
Me.
Me.
Me.I'm sick and tired of people believing that I care about anyone but myself.
I am NOT a good person.
Only good people care about anyone else.
I am NOT a good person."Right." I answered simply.
Apparently my tone had displayed my irritation seeing as the mood became even more somber.
"I'm going to bed." I announced before turning heel and walking out of the room, trying not to spare any glances.
I never cared about any of them.
I was never scared I'd get close to them.
And I sure as hell was never going to put my life on the line for them.
