Annabeth's POV

After my flight landed, and my dad picked me up, (and waited at baggage claim for about an hour) I went home and started looking for apartments with my dad and step mom. My brothers were at Goode highschool finishing up a project. I found one that looked really nice (or so I thought, who knows with New York) so I scheduled a time I could tour, but for right now I just really needed the jet lag to wear off so I went to one of my diners in New York,  Ellen's Stardust Diner. When I got there I was surprised there wasn't a line out he door, but it was a Thursday morning so I understood. I had gotten off the subway and started walking, it wasn't far but it also wasn't very close. I was walking with my head down and I tripped over the sidewalk and put my hand on the nearest object that would help me right myself. A man's chest. I muttered "sorry" and looked up. He was pretty handsome. Shaggy black hair and emerald green eyes. To be honest he was pretty much the personification of the ocean. He smelled of salt water. He smiled and said "how would you like to go for dinner with tomorrow at eight?" I frowned and said "I cant." "Why, we can go on Saturday?" "It's not that, I just got out of a really bad relationship and I'm not exactly ready to date again." He looked disappointed when I said that he handed me a folded skip of paper and said "Call me when you are." He smiled and walked away. I didn't have to look at the paper to know it was a phone number. I quickly pulled my phone out (hey he was really cute and maybe we could be friends) and relized that I didn't get his name. I kept walking and got to the diner and for the first time since the breakup I smiled a real smile.

Percy's POV

After I ran into the girl, I guessed I shouldn't have rushed right into a relationship either. I still felt really broken inside. I just broke up with this girl, her name was Rachel. Rachel Elizabeth Dare. I thought she loved me but then she left me for Will Solace. What she didn't know? He's gay. And dating someone. So yeah I'm pretty broken myself. I'm still kinda disappointed, I really liked her. I really mad at myself for not getting her name. I was in my room when I iris messaged my mom. She answered and said "Oh hi Percy, what's up? I was just cleaning the bathroom." "Nothings up, I just... Wait did you say you were cleaning the bathroom?" "Yeah, why?" "Aren't you like, eight months pregnant? Why are you working that hard?" "Life doesn't pause when you are pregnant. Plus Paul is getting everything at the school ready for the new year. Someone has to clean. Speaking of, are you ready to go back to Goode? This is your last year!" "Yes, I'm ready, to be done I just ready to be done and move on with my life as a marine biologist." "I'm ready too, I'm sick of paying your rent!" "Ha, well mom I got to go. I love you." "I love you to Perce." With that he swiped his hand through his mom's face and let out a sigh. He checked the clock and it was only noon. He called Grover and asked him if he wanted to go get drinks or something. "Sorry Perce Junipers in labor. Can't leave her." "That's okay Grover, congrats by the way!" "Thanks!" He heard Juniper groaning in the background. He ended the call and played on his bed and read (just kidding, he watched a movie) and eventually fell asleep.
