Chapter 8

Annabeths POV
I hear a knock on the bathroom and through sobs I said "o-one m-minute" then a males voice said "Annabeth, its Percy." I said barely a whisper "okay." I opened the door and he looks at me like he's searching my face and I said "sorry, you have to see me like this. I don't cry. Ever." Then he said "No. Your beautiful." He cupped my chin and kissed me. Here's the thing, it was only a peck, but it left me wanting more. He walked away. So I went back downstairs and ate dinner with a smile on my face. After we all ate and everyone was leaving I pulled Percy to the side and whispered in his ear "when is that date you promised me?" He smiled at me and said "come to my apartment." I smiled and bit my lip.
Annabeth do you think you are rushing into this?
I push the thought aside and say goodbye to everyone then go to his apartment, I knock on the door and when he opened it I said "when's our date?" He smirked and said "how's Friday at eight?" "Perfect. What are we doing?" "It's a suprise!" He said it with a smirk and I walked into my apartment to see Thalia sitting on the couch crying. When I asked her what happened she just shook her head and she went upstairs to the spare bedroom and went to bed. I can't help thinking about my date on Friday. Tomorrow. I feel super excited and giddy, and anxious. I haven't had a date since before the engagement. I am going to be distant? Am I going to be able to trust him?
Annabeth. Stop. Go to bed and stop worrying.
With that I went to bed.

I look at my surroundings and I see I'm in my old house, but Lukes car is in the driveway. I walk in the house and hear the same noise I heard the day I left. I go to the room it's coming from and I see a couple kissing. I look closer, and see who it is. Thalia. And Luke.

I bolt up and scream. Thalia comes running in and tried to ask me what's wrong. "Stay away from me!" "Annabeth, it was a dream. It was only a dream." She put her arms around me and I calmed down and looked out the window and it was light out. She said "its almost nine, I made breakfast. C'mon. so why did you stop at Percys last night?" She had a smirk on her face. I bit my lip and said "well when he came and got me in the bathroom, he called me beautiful and..." "AND!?" "He kissed me, so we planned a date." "OH MY GODS!!!!" "Yeah we have a date tonight!" "Oh my gods Annabeth!! When?!" "Eight!" "I'm taking you shopping." "Thalia, you know how much I hate shopping." "Don't care, what are you doing?" "Don't know it's a suprise!" "Yup, taking you shopping." I roll my eyes and say "Fine, what's for breakfast?" She just laughed and pulled me to the kitchen. It was insane there was cinnamon buns, pancakes, waffles, anything with sugar was there "oh my gods Thals, you made all of this?" "Your funny Annabeth, no I ordered this from the diner from across the street." "Oh."
After eating me and Thals went to the mall. She asked me "casual or dressy?" "Well, I don't know where we are going. So dressy casual?" "Perfect." We went into a store called arrow. Thalia helped me pick out three outfits. One had a white tank top with a dream catcher on the neckline, ripped jean shorts, combat boots, and a red bandana. Another was a red tshirt, ripped jeans, white converse, and an black headband. The last was a flowy turquoise tank top, white jeggings, and golden strappy sandals. I can out in the first outfit and Thalia just shook her head so I knew that was out. Then I came out in the second one and she said "well... Keep it in there and put on the next one." I put on third on she said "Thats it. That's the one. Now give it to me." "Why?" "I'm paying for it. I told you I was taking you shopping." I sighed "Fine, but I'm buying lunch." "Nope give me your wallet." "Fine but I need it back for the date."

After we got back I put the outfit on and Thalia did my makeup. Gold eyes, black eyeliner, mascara, and coral lipstick. I looked at the time 7:10. Fifty minutes left, and I can't wait! I seriously hope this was a good idea.

Percy's POV
I went to my mom's apartment and wanted to tell her about my date. When I got home my heavily pregnant mother answers the door. I walk inside and said "guess what mom!!" "You found mystery girl and are taking her out?" "Yes and guess what?" "Shes your neighbor?" "Can you guess where I'm taking her?" "Ellens Stardust Diner?" "How did you know that?" "Good guess?" I raised my eyebrows. "Okay, you texted me last night." "Oh yeah." "Gotta go, I have to get ready."
I went home and went through my closet. I picked out a pair of white shorts a turquoise polo and a pair of beige sandals. I look at the time 6:57. Only an hour left, I can't wait.
