Chapter 10

Percy's POV

When I woke up the next morning I couldn't stop smiling. The way she argued with me over the check and when she told me that she was paying for the next date. But I was lying. I was lying when I said I never met her before. Because the truth is, we were in love, but she got in a car crash and completely forgot about me. Her dad tried to explain to her but she didn't understand. My mom doesn't remember her either. They were togehter. Annabeth was going to pick out a wedding dress, but she didn't remember. My mom remembered me, eventually. But then Annabeth went to San Francisco with her dad. And she met Luke. I choke back a sob. We were going to get married.
We saved the world together twice, I survived Tartarus with her, she saved my life. At that I start to sob.

Theres a knock at the door. My eyes are rimmed with red and when I open the I see Annabeths gray eyes boring into me. She's thinking, I can tell by the way her brow knits and she frowns. She looks up and sees how red my eyes are and she says "Is everything okay? Why are you crying?" "I-uhh-I was thinking about my ex." Not completely a lie. "Oh what was her name? What did she look like?" "Oh. Her name surprisingly enough, was Annabeth." She laughed and said "So you have a thing for annabeths? What did she look like?" "She had Blonde curly hair that was always up, she had these piercing gray eyes that I could swear see into my soul! She was so beautiful, she was a child of Athena, she saved the world with me twice!" She has her thinking look on her face and then she looked up with look on her face that I couldn't read. Then she whispered "Percy?" I nodded my head and with tears in her eyes she should up and walked out.

Annabeths POV
I couldn't take this. I knew I had seen Percy before and when he said that I started to remember. I remembered  our first kiss after the Titan war, him telling me he loved me for the first time, falling into Tartarus with him, saving the world with him, graduating at Goode high with him, him proposing, the accident. I was on my way to get my wedding dress. I think my dad tried to explain but couldn't. I wasn't ready for this. I just left Luke two months ago. Only two months, I thought I loved him. I truly thought I loved him, I started crying and walking faster to my apartment. Piper saw me crying and said "Come inside." After we went inside and sat down. She said "spill." "Well, a couple years ago I got in a car crash and I forgot everything. I remembered almost everything, except Percy and about six or seven other people. I remember Percy but the other six or seven are still pretty fuzzy." Piper took in a sharp breath and said "I lied when I said I never met you, we are the other six or seven. Me, Jason, Hazel, Frank, Leo, Calypso, and Nico." "What about Will?" "Oh, I don't think you ever met him." "Oh, I think it's coming back. Little by little." I got up and left. I walked passed Thals and went into my room, grabbed my laptop and watched the saddest movie I could find. The boy in the striped pajamas. I just needed to cry.

After the movie, all my memories with Luke came flooding back. Me running up to him with a hammer thinkimg he was a monster, us making it to camp half blood, going up to him after a makeover from the Aphrodite kids and tripping while he tells me I'm beautiful without makeup, him teaching me how to ice skate, proposing, and walking in on him. I broke down and sobbed as loud as I could. Thalia came up and hugged me "I remember everything!" I said through sobs. "Oh honey." That's when I realized something Percy and I were supposed to be engaged, but we weren't. I stood up, ran to his apartment, when he answered the door, a kissed him with so much force he fell over. He whispered "Wise girl, you remember?" "Yeah seaweed brain. I do." "I know this is a lot to ask but I want you to my mom, she doesn't remember you. I thought maybe she would if-" I cut him off by kissing him again. He said "I love you." "I love you too seaweed brain." I think I'm ready to love again.
