Sirius and Nixie were in the kitchen the morning of September 1st, fully prepared to bring Henry to King's Cross Station so he could begin his third year at Hogwarts but the boy was taking his sweet time getting ready that morning.

"He gets this from you, you know?" Nixie glanced over at her husband before taking a sip of her morning tea. "All this primping in the morning, he certainly doesn't get that from me. You could hardly get me out of bed at his age."

"I can hardly get you out of bed now." Sirius said, " And besides, there is nothing wrong with wanting to look good. It worked for you didn't it? You liked what you saw every morning. You still do."

Nixie gave him a face before walking out of the kitchen and towards the staircase in the living room.

"Come on, Henry, you're going to be late. I'll make you walk this year, I mean it!" She yelled up the stairs.

"Coming! Coming! Coming!" Henry suddenly appeared at the top of the stairs and attempted to slide down the banister railing. He successfully made it half way before toppling over the back and falling to the ground.

"Smooth." Nixie sighed.

Sirius appeared in the doorway and looked over at his son on the floor.

"Still wondering if you can fly?" Sirius said as Nixie helped Henry up to his feet.

"No, today we learned that we can't slide." Nixie chuckled.

Henry grumbled as he rubbed his back.

"Do you have everything packed that you should?" Nixie asked as Henry walked into the kitchen to grab a quick breakfast.

"Yes."

"Are you sure?"

"Yes."

"Double sure?"

"Triple sure, Mum." he smiled. "But if I forget anything, you'll send it to me, won't you?"

"Maybe. If I feel like it."

"But-"

"Teasing." Nixie smiled. "Now hurry up and eat something or we're going to late. If we miss the train again like last year, I swear-"

Henry quickly shoved a waffle into his mouth. "Domph!"

"Great, let's go. Oh wait, go say goodbye to your grandmother."

"But she's just going to-"

"Listen to your mother..go on." Sirius nodded his head to the door.

Henry threw back his head with a loud whining noise before leaving out the house.

"All she's going to do is splash me, I know it!" he said closing the door behind him.

"You know that's what Meri does every time." Sirius said.

"I know." Nixie smiled. "But it's tradition at this point. Mustn't break tradition!"

"Oh it's Mr. Third Year!" Meri called to him from where she rested on the rock.

"Hey Nana." Henry greeted her with a wave.

"Why are you standing all the way back there, come over here and give me a kiss goodbye."

Henry gave her a look. "You're not going to splash me, are you?"

"I wouldn't dream of doing such a thing." Meri said with a twinkle in her eye.

"So you say." He walked over to the water's edge and leaned into give his grandmother a kiss on the cheek.

"Have a good third year. You and Hope try not to get yourselves into too much trouble this year."
