Laila's POV
    Today's is Jacobs birthday! I
Can't wait to go to his house and surprise him! My mommy, Jacobs mommy, and Caroline planned him a surprise party. They said that Jacob and I would play basketball at my house while they set up. " Hey Jacob! " I said. " Hey L" ( he called me thy sometimes). He says. " I'm gonna beat you today! I have a lucky feeling about it!" He says. Because it's his Birthday I might let him win. What I'm worried about is his cooties if he wins and he has to kiss my cheek.

Jacobs POV
I'm at Laila's house playing some basketball while my mom does some stuff. She wouldn't tell me what. I'm determined to beat Laila this time. It will be a birthday treat. " I'm gonna kick your booty!! " I say with a competitive tone. I dribble and shoot. I make a 3 pointer! " you just got lucky!" Laila shouts.
She now has the ball , the score is even and it's the last shot. If she makes it , she wins. If she doesn't then I get one shot and if I make it I win. If I don't then it's a tie.
Laila dribbles, sikes me out and turns the other way. I knew what she was going to do so I blocked she shot. She missed!!  I may actually have a shot at winning!! " Yayyyyyyy! " I scream in victory.
" hey, you haven't won yet" Laila says. " ya, well I will!" I say. I dribble. Jump right, then left, I take a big leap and shoot. .....I made it!!!!!! " I did it! I bet you!!!!!" I say.

Laila's POV
I didn't let him win. He actually bet me. I'm proud of him, he deserves it, it is his birthday. " oh no" I say.
        " what " he says.
" oh ya!!!! My winners treat! " Jacob says.
I really didn't want his cooties so I made him wash his mouth out with water before he kissed my cheek. " 3...2...1.." He says. Then he kisses my cheek. It wasn't too bad I say to myself. I'm now kinda glad that he won. 😊.

" Jacob, Laila, come here" Jacobs mom says. We walk to his house. His mom tells me it's time for the party. I lead Jacob on to the back porch and all his friends and family yell " SURPRISE !!!!!"

Jacobs POV
Laila leads me out onto my back yard and I hear every one yell " SURPRISE!"  All my friends come to greet me and tell m me happy birthday. I turn to Laila an ask her if she planned this. She said she helped but our family did most of it. I gave her a big hug smile and said thanks for being the bast friend ever.

It was time for cake and presents. I wanted to open presents first. I opened all but 2. They were from Laila. I wanted to save the best for last because she always gets me the best stuff. I grab the big box and open it. " It's a basketball!!I love it Laila! It will be my lucky ball because it's from you. "
i reached for the smaller box. I rip off the paper and open the box. I see a card that reads : " Happy birthday Jacob. It's one more year I've spent with my best friend. These gifts will show my appreciation. Love , Laila".
I open the box and see two bracelets. One has a "J" and the other has an "L". Laila walked over to me and explained what they are.
" they are friend ship bracelets. You get the one with an L and I get the one with a J. This means we will be friends forever. " Laila says. I giver her another big hug and say thank you.
It's now time for cake. My mom lit the candles and I make a wish and blow them out. " 1...2...3! ( blowing sounds). Laila asks " what did you wish for?"
      " I can't tell you or else it won't come true " I say.
" oh come on I'm your best friend!" She says.
" ok, it kinda already came true so I guess I can tell you. " I say. " I wished to win in basketball so I could kiss your cheek" I begin to blush. Laila is my best friend and I never want that to end. " awww" says the crowd around us.

Laila's POV
Jacob and I hug and in return I kiss his cheek. We both laugh and have fun until the party is over.

AN: sorry for the long chapters at this age. This was just to explain the future events as they grow up. Happy readings 😊
