AN- pic above its Jacob and Laila now. They are 14. It is 3 years in the future
Jacobs POV
" I'm like hey, what's up, hello. See your pretty eyes as it walked in the door", I went on singing .
We are currently in the car on our way to chipotle. Laila's mom is out of town so she is staying with us in our guest bedroom. It was fun having we there all the time. Thinking of her I glance down at my charms and so does she. By now I have 4 she has 5. ( sorry if it gets off topic). I buy her charms, she buys mine, pretty obvious. My charms consist of the basketball ( 1st) , the video camera (2nd), a gold medal from when I won't state champ ( 3rd) , and a key, Laila and I both got the key on our first day of high school. It means that we are unlocking our future.
Laila's POV
We are on our way to chipotle. I look at Jacob and he is staring at his bracelet, I look down and do the same. I had 5 charms, 1 more than Jacob because there is a special charm he got me.
My first charm is the smile, the second was a book because I made honors scociety in middle school, the third is a gymnast doing a skill ( needle) because I won at a regionals competition, the fourth is a key, we both got this going into high school because we are unlocking our future.
The last one is very special, it's an infinity sign meaning that no matter what we are Jacob and I will be together forever. If it's as best friends or more.
I guess I mean a lot to him and he means the world to me. That will the next charm I get him. ( an earth charm).
" are we almost there" Jacob whines next to me.
" chill out its only food" Caroline says.
" ONLY FOOD!!" Jacob and I shout in unison.
" it's not only food, it's chipotle!" I say backing up our argument. Everyone in the car laughs at our love for chipotle.
All the sudden I feel a tug on my hair. It's Jacob. Of course it's Jacob. He is braiding my hair. He does that when he gets bored. Over time he has gotten pretty good at it.
Jacobs POV
Man her hair is soft , it's like silk. Thus why I always braid it, plus it gives me something to do when I'm bored.
" hey Caroline an you turn on 96.5? Please?" It's only the best radio station because they play all the good music. The song starts to play out of the speakers.
" this sounds framiliar... Oh what I've only heard it a million times!!" Laila says ( note the sarcasm). " OH MY GOSH!!!!! It's sweatshirt!! And they are playing it on the radio!!!!!!" I say. They are playing my song on the radio. Best day ever. Laila starts to jump up and down in her seat. She reaches over and hugs me and whispers "congratulations" in my ear.
Her hug was warm and comforting. It has always been but now it's just amazing.
We jam to sweatshirt, Laila sings
" when you go to sleep at night
And when you wake up in the morning
An when you walk the halls girl you know you wanna flaunt it.
Said this maybe , the start of something new
Girl I'm gonna tell you exactly what I wanna do is more than, just this."
Man her voice is beautiful. I knew she could sing but I've never heard her sing like this.
( 10 minutes later)
We arrive at chipotle and order. .... After we finish lunch Laila decide to go walk around the park because it was right around the corner.
" hey L, wanna go to the park? " I ask.
" I'll race ya!" She shouts as she has already started running. I'm fast but she is too. There is a chance both of us could win. We are neck and neck almost to the swing set, 3...2...1! We grab the swing at the same time. " I guess it's a tie.." I mumble out of breath.
Caroline's POV ( finally)
" Those two crazy kids are so cute" I say to my mom. I can tell that Jacob liked her. They way he looks at her , like she is his everything. I can also tell that Laila likes him. We all know how important he is to her. If they were ever separated it would be the end of the world.
