Which I otherwise like to call Precognitive Parent Syndrome.
This syndrome makes me irrationally mad.
Ever read a book whose character is named something like Phoenix, and then he happens to rise from death?
Or Wynter, who so happens to suddenly and unexpectedly develop powers over ice?
Bad writer. Bad, bad writer.
Unless the characters' parents actually did have precognitive abilities, or unless the character so happens to be a designer baby whose parents purposely ensured he had super-strength so as to be able to call him Vigor, then I will definitely not be able to take your book seriously.
