Marshall and I dated for two more years, until he finally asked me two things: one, if I would marry him, and two, if he could bite me. I said yes to the first one (because I was 18 by that point and it was legal) and after a lot of coaxing, pleading, and promises, I finally gave in to the second.

He sat me down on the bed, and said, "I'll try to be gentle, and I'm sorry if this hurts."
I gripped the blanket so hard my knuckles turned white, and nodded slowly. This terrified me, and- I gasped as his fangs pierced my neck. He pulled back out immediately, licking his lips. "You okay?" He asked, concerned.

I nodded, though I felt sick to my stomach. Marshall wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "The pain should-"
The pain hit me like a tidal wave, and I bit my lip to keep from screaming. It felt like I was on fire from the inside out. I let out a small whimper, and Marshall kissed my forehead. "Don't be brave, let it out."
I grabbed a pillow off his bed, and buried my face in it, screaming as loudly as I could. The pain only intensified, until suddenly it stopped.

I leaned against Marshall, who pulled me into a tight hug. "I'm so sorry that I had to hurt you like that." He said, running his hand through my hair.
"It's okay." I choked out, brushing away the tears that had formed.
He examined my neck. "Okay, I think you'll be good to go down with me soon..."
"What do you mean?"

"Vampire Kingdom. I have to go check up on them, and you are coming with me." He replied.
"I thought the Nightosphere...?"
He shook his head. "Not the Vampire Kingdom- it's where the demons are. The Vampire Kingdom is close to it, though."
"Well, what do you mean, I'm coming with you?" I asked, getting a little annoyed.

He grinned. "You are coming with me, because you have to meet your subjects, my Queen."
I sighed, and nodded. He made a good point. He hopped off the bed, whistling Viva La Vida by Coldplay, and dug through his drawers for a few minute, before tossing me a thin golden circlet and putting a matching one on. "How do I look?" He asked.
"Extremely handsome." I repsonded, hopping off the bed as well and kissing him.

He grinned. "Well, that's good, because you look extremely beautiful."
Then he snapped his fingers twice, and we were transported into the Vampire Kingdom. It makes sense that he had a sort of trigger to travel back and forth between the two, but he never does it. Okay, never mind, that's not the important part anyway.

Marshall pulled me through the streets to a stone castle. Oh yes, we were underground. Probably should have mentioned that, but there's so much to talk about. It was pretty sparsely populated, but there were a lot of buildings. Everyone who saw Marshall bowed and muttered something along the lines of, 'Welcome home, your majesty.' And then proceed to look at me curiously.

Finally, we reached the threshold of the castle, and a little girl of about seven, with strawberry blonde hair tied up in a bun popped up, glaring at Marshall. "You're two years, eight months and nine days overdue for your yearly checkup on the vampire world, Marshall. You better have a good reason."
"Hello to you too, Annie." He grinned. "And I have a perfect reason. I didn't want to leave Fionna alone for Glob knows how many days, and I just turned her."

Annie blinked. "She was human?"
I nodded. "Emphasis on was."
Annie held up my left hand, examining it. Then she tore up a long sheet of paper she had been holding. "It doesn't hurt to tell me you got married, Marshall." She snapped.
"What was on the sheet of paper?" He asked curiously.

She shot him a look. "I believe you know what. What do I bug you about every single time you come back here?"
"The Parliament I set up so I don't have to stay here and rule?" Marshall asked innocently.
"No. Well, that too, but mainly the fact that you need to get married so you can have an heir, so if something happens to you, the crown won't pass back to Brendan."
"Well, he's kind of... dead..." I said quietly.
