Marinette's POV
It's been about two weeks since I got out of my coma. I get out of the hospital tomorrow surprisingly. I obviously still can't go to school, and boy, I am still in a whole lot of pain. Not as much as before, but it is definitely excruciating. Chat has been keeping his promise and has been coming daily to come visit me. I love his company, and he often visits for hours at a time just making sure that I am not lonely. Adrian dropped by a couple of days ago. He apologized for not visiting earlier, but his father gave him specific orders not to come. Alya comes to visit too but definitely not as much at Chat does. I have missed out on a lot of school but with a lot of effort I can get it all made up. How in the world am I getting home? I mean I can't even walk.
Just on cue, a nurses walked in with papers for my parents to sign so I can get out of the hospital. "Marinette is getting home by wheelchair. I know it isn't going to be pleasant at all since your spine isn't healed, but we can knock you out with something if you want."
"I think I can do it so no medicine please." I said politely.
"Of course. You are a strong willed girl Marinette. Be very proud of that," the nurse complimented. I just gave a warm smile. After she and my parents left, Chat entered my room...through the window...again.
"Chat, you can walk in here like any other person you know," I said trying to sound annoyed.
"What's the fun in that princess? Beside it takes me five minutes to get up the normal way verses the thirty seconds through the window. I purfer to get here as fast as possible to see you." Chat signature grin was plastered on his face.
"Whatever kitty! Now come give me a hug, and then I can tell you about tomorrow," I pleaded. Chat gave my a very gentle and warm hug. When he released it, I felt oddly cold.
"So what is so important about tomorrow, Mari?" Chat said with a questioning smile.
"I get out tomorrow, kitty!" A proud smile made its way across my face.
"That's awesome! But are you sure you're ready for it? How are they going to do it anyway?"
"Thanks for the concern, Chat. I can do this! I am going to be wheelchair. They said they could knock me out for it to avoid the pain, but I can overcome it! And I want you to help me kitty!" My face lighten up.
Chat's POV
"You want me to help you?" I questioned.
"Yes, kitty. You promised you would support me so I want you there!"
"Mari, don't put yourself in too much pain ok?"
"I can't promise you too much, but I can try. Besides I am sick of staring at these beige walls! Will you please come tomorrow?!"
"For you, I will." I put my charming smile on. "What time, princess?"
"About 10 AM I think."
"Okay. Have I ever told you how purtty you are princess?"
"Yes, kitty. No more puns please."
"Ugh princess, everytime you say that a dagger pierces my heart," I said very dramatically putting my hand to my head.
"Oh shush kitty. Ahhh. I am up for a nap. How about you?"
"You're so cute when you yawn." I put my crosse arms on her hospital bed and rested my head. I was out like a light.
I woke up with a startle. Marinette was still sleeping. She is so adorable. I thought to myself. "Sleep well princess." I kissed her lightly on the forehead then took my leave.
The next day
The wind felt stronger today as I rushed towards Marinette's hospital. When I arrived, the wheelchair was already in the room ready to go. Marinette was in her normal attire but looked extremely nervous."Princess, you got this! I am right here with you. Don't worry." I tried to encourage her so she can get through this next step. Her parents and then the nurses came in.
"Ok, Marinette. We are going to start transferring you to the wheelchair. This might hurt a little." The nurses took ahold of Marinette and carefully placed her in the wheelchair.
"Ow! Ouch! Are we done yet?" Marinette was closing her eyes attempting to tone down the pain she was in. She inhaled very sharply. "Chat!" she cried out! She was sobbing from the pain. "Please! Make it stop!" She kept wailing.
"Sh, sh, sh. Princess it is all over. It's okay. I am right here. I know it hurts bad right now, but think you get to go back home now. You're so brave Mari. Sh, sh, sh." I cradled her head and let her cry unto my shoulder.
"It hurts so much Chat. When does it stop?" she whimpered.
"I don't know when, but soon I promise." I petted her hair in an effort to calm her down. After a while, she calmed down. "You are doing amazing princess. I will meet you at your house, okay? See you there." I did my two finger salute and jumped through the window. I jumped from rooftop to rooftop. The breeze was calmer now. Ladybug hasn't shown up for our patrols. Thankfully there weren't any akumatized citizens lately either. I hopped on to Marinette's balcony and opened the trap door to let myself in. I looked around and took in my surroundings. She still had those Adrian posters up. Her bed wasn't made, and her cloths were scattered everywhere. When the Dupain-Cheng family arrived, I rushed to help Marinette's father lift her and the wheelchair upstairs. Once we did that Tom tried to put Mairnette in her bed. Unfortunately for her, it hurt way to much. She asked her papa to leave so it was just is two.
Marinette's POV
"Chat, can you please help me get in bed?" I asked softly."Princess, you know I would, but I don't want to hurt you," the blond-headed boy replied apologetically.
"Kitty, look at me." I forced him to stare at my eyes. Those gorgeous green eyes. They look kind of sad. Poor kitty still feels guilty. "I trust you, kitty. Now you have to help me into bed."
"Alright. I apologize for the pain I will cause you." Chat scanned my body looking for the easiest places to pick me up. He went underneath my arms very carefully trying not to touch my spine. He put his other strong arms underneath my knees, also careful to not touch my broken leg. I started transferring me to my bed. When I felt pain, I tried my hardest to shield it from his eyes. Pain suddenly dispersed throughout my whole back making me whimper.
"Hurry, Chat." I managed to get out. The pain I was in was crippling. Chat finally placed me in my bed. My put a pillow underneath my left leg to keep it elevated. The pain unfortunately didn't stop. I got a huge headache from my concussions that took it over the edge. "Chat," I whispered. "Help me. Please help me. I can't do this. It hurts to much." Tears soaked my cheeks as I weeped into Chat's shoulders for the second time today.
"I know it does, princess. Remember I am with you every step of the way. I promise." He came to me and hugged me. It felt like a cloud was hugging me. He brushed my hair with his clawed hands. I calmed down as the pain subsided.
"Thank you so much, Chat. I love you, kitty." I realized what I said when Chat's cheeks flared. "I meant that I um, that I love that you were there for me. Um, ya that. That is what I meant."
Chat just chuckled as his miraculous beeped."Sorry to cut this short, princess, but this cat has to pounce. See you tomorrow, Mari." He released his hug and pecked me on the lips. Wait! Chat just kissed me. I could feel the heat radiating of my cheeks. Chat just smirked at me and left. I am going to kill that cat!!!
