When I called you fat.
Why'd you become anorexic?
I didn't mean it
When I said you were ugly.
Why'd you hide under your hoodie?
I didn't mean it
When I said you deserved to be punished.
Why'd you self harm?
I didn't mean it
When I said you were meant to be alone.
Why'd you stop trying to make friends?
I didn't mean it
When I told you you weren't smart.
Why'd you let your grades drop?
I didn't mean it
When I said you sucked at singing.
Why'd you drop out of choir?
I didn't mean it
When I told you to go die.
Why'd you kill yourself?
I didn't mean any of it
Why'd you believe me?
I know that
It's too late to apologize.
But,
I hope you know,
Somehow,
That I didn't mean it.
