Outside, a grayness fills the sky.
It's dull and dreary,
dark and depressing,
drab and boring.
But that's not the way it has to be.
Within your mind,
You can create
The elements that are missing.
Pock the sky with puffy white clouds,
So that it looks like
Cotton candy.
Turn the dull gray shade
Into an ultra aqua blue.
Turn the sadness
And disappointment
Into happiness
And hope.
Make those trees lime green,
And that swingset a bright yellow.
Plant the seeds of imaging
In your brain.
Imagine a blue sky as you're doing things every day.
Take a deep breath in, focusing on the blue,
Seeing it in your mind,
Then whoosh - let the gray sky out.
Blue sky in,
Gray sky out!
