Kieran was astonished, that much I could tell. It only lasted for a few seconds before his face became a serene mask and said, "That was truly unexpected."

"N-Not in the like-like way though," I quickly added, feeling a bit of color rising to my cheeks.

I was looking away from by this time but when he spoke, I could hear the teasing in his voice. "You don't like me that way? Ouch."

"As if you care," I muttered.

How long was the bus going to take? I just wanna go home!

"I do care, that's why I asked. Still, that was a shock. I thought you didn't like me at all."

"I didn't really, you just won me over with your gift."

"Hmm, I see, since the core problem with us started with that poor iPod of yours after all," he chuckled.

My mind became racked with that memory. How many months has it been? Ever since that day, my life started to change. One thing's for sure: my life has considerably grown shorter because of the constant stress that Kieran gave me. Man, what a headache those first weeks had been. I can't believe our relationship has gone from snapping at each other every few seconds to this! Seconds ago I just admitted that I liked him. Who knew?

"By the way," I looked back at Kieran at the sudden change in his voice. He looked sheepish this time, "Would you keep this a secret from Nana?"

I snorted, "I can keep my mouth shut, but I can't do a thing about your lovely face."

"I'll just say I fell down the stairs."

"You could do better that."

"And that you pushed me. She'd believe that, after all you're always trying to pick a fight with me," he sounded smug.

"Then I'll tell her that I met a certain good-looking lad named Anton, won't I?"

He stared at me flatly while I looked back with a smirk. I added, "My, my, you have been a very bad boy, Kieran. You're always getting yourself hurt. I bet this time, Nana's gonna whoop your butt."

I enjoyed the mental image I just conjured. Back then when Kieran got into a fight and ended up hurting his toad face, Nana had been worried, but otherwise kept her opinions to herself and didn't ask prying questions. This time will be different, I'm sure of it. By now Nana had grown so accustomed to the boy that she basically treated him like her own grandson. I doubt she's going to just let him be when she sees the bruises on his face. Knowing her, she would use every method she could think of to get an answer out of Kieran and then deal with the people involved herself. Did I mention Nana can get really scary?

I laughed evilly, enjoying the look on Kieran's face as he, too, must be thinking of what'll happen when we get home. "This gon' be good, oh yes. While Nana's smacking your butt with her belt, I'm gonna be enjoying myself on the frontrow with popcorn."

He looked annoyed, "You sure are enjoying yourself."

"I'd do the honor of recording it for my precious siblings' entertainment in the near future," I nodded to myself, taking a mental note to have my phone fully-charged.
