I watch the way the leaves dance away from the trees.

I didn't believe it at first.

I mean I thought I was dreaming.

Always sleeping under the same tree, same shade

I thought I heard a human speaking.

Opening one eye.

I saw no one around.

"Hey you're in my spot"

Again. That's the voice I heard.

I sat up and saw a dog.

I blink.

" Hey kid."

I jumped up.

" thanks for the spot"

The dog goes to where I was laying down

"You...speak"

I walk towards the small dog

" yes and so do you."

He went to sleep.
