Emily bit her nails as she waited for the white test to finish developing on the bathroom counter. She couldn't help but stare at it until the five minuets were up. She picked up the stick and looked for the result. A small plus sign was shown on the screen. Emily raised her eyebrows a little before she smiled and left the test on the counter before walking out of the bathroom and into her home office. It was a Saturday but she had some emails to send and meetings to plan before the week ahead. Calum was out, doing something or other, he did tell Emily but she had forgotten or she just wasn't listening to him. As Emily fingers typed across the keys of the laptop she couldn't help but look down at her stomach and wonder how far along she was. It wasn't really a planned baby, they had agreed that 'If it happened it happened'. They were ready for a baby, at least as ready as they could be but normally if you try for a baby it's harder to get pregnant. So they weren't trying but they were not trying. Emily only brought a test because she had small waves of sickness the last few days and when she thought about it she hadn't had a period in a while. So naturally she took these as signs that maybe she was. She hadn't informed Calum of these small hints to her being pregnant just in case she wasn't.
By the time Calum had gotten home Emily was in the kitchen stirring noodles in a pan.
"Hey" Calum said walking into the kitchen and kissing Emily's temple.
"Hey" Emily said casually looking up at him before he walked over to the fridge to grab a bottle of water.
"Did you have a fun day?" Calum asked making Emily roll her eyes at him.
"It was delightful" Emily answered before she turned around to face him. "Actually the accountant rang and wants to book the annual meeting thing but I didn't know when you were free so I said we'd get back to him"
"Was that really the highlight of your day?" Calum asked laughing a little. "But okay I think I can be pretty flexible for a while with time off or whatever"
"Well I told him I'd call him back Monday" Emily shrugged making Calum nod. "Also did you walk Buzz this morning?"
"Nope I was gonna take him out for a run later" Calum answered as he put the half empty water bottle on the side. Calum walked out of the room and Emily heard him go upstairs. She turned back to the noodles adding in soy sauce as she continued to let them simmer.
Calum walked into their bedroom, stripping out of his jeans and replacing them with grey sweats before he walked into the bathroom. Calum frozen as he stood in front of the toilet picking up the pregnancy test laying on the counter. He frowned at it before he looked on the box at the instructions. He carefully carried the test down stairs where Emily was now dishing up the noodles into bowls with grilled chicken cut up in it.
"Emily what's this?" Calum asked, even though he knew what it was. He didn't even know why he was asking that.
"What's what?" Emily asked not even glancing over at him as she was too distracted by cutting up the last piece of chicken.
"This" Calum said making Emily look over at him. She eyes widen a little because she left it out. She should've done something cuter to tell him.
"What does it look like?" Emily asked
"Are you pregnant?" Calum asked making Emily raise her eyebrows at him a little as she smiled.
"I think so" Emily answered. Calum looked at the test before he looked back at her.
"Jones I swear to go if you're messing with me" Calum warned
"Can you stop calling me Jones that hasn't been my name for over a year" Emily whined "And I'm not messing with you"
Calum just stared at her blankly for a few seconds which kind of freaked her out a little. Was he not happy about this?
"Well shit" Calum stated making Emily feel less reassurance about him not being happy. Calum walked over to her and pulled her to him by the hips. "We're going to be parents" He whispered looking down at her Emily nodded and bit her lip. "God I love you"
"Can I finish making the dinner I'm hungry?" Emily asked making Calum chuckle and shake his head at her before he pushed her lightly away from him.
"What do I do with this?" Calum asked holding the pregnancy test.
"Bin it" Emily stated "You know I've pissed on that right?"
Calum's face dropped a little as he let go of the pregnancy test.
"You peed on that and you didn't think to tell me?" Calum asked horror showing on his face.
"How did you think they worked? "Emily asked making Calum shrug at her before he put the pregnancy test in to the bin. "Also"
"Yeah?" Calum asked as he walked over to the sink to wash his hands because he just touched Emily's pee and that was just disgusting.
"Don't tell anyone for a while" Emily said as she placed a fork in each bowl on noodles. "I don't know how far long I am and telling people before four months is risky encase of miscarries or something happening"
"Wait so you don't know how pregnant you are?"
"No" Emily said with a shrug "I'll go see a doctor or something"
"Can we talk baby names?" Calum asked excitedly as he followed Emily through into the dining room.
"Right now?" Emily asked "Can you not wait a little?"
"Why aren't you as excited as me about this?" Calum asked frowning a little.
"Because I have to carry a human for nine months and I'm not sure how excited I can get about that" Emily said with a small shrug.
"It will be worth it?" Calum said trying to think about something reassuring to say to her.
"We'll see" Emily smiled at him before she twiddled noodles around her fork.

We will see indeed Emily you are correct.
SO the third book is gonna be called: OURS.
I've been thinking about titles all day and honestly it was so hard? Chemistry and a story of another us came really naturally and quickly.
So the plot of mine is going be a little jumpy at first before it settles when they have older children - teenagers not like 20. I'm excited for it!
Thank you all so much for reading this book and I hope you follow Calum and Emily into the next chapter of their lives. If not then bye it was nice knowing you.
Let me know any ideas you have for the third book.
Let me know opinions on this book??
I did do some changes to the last chapter this morning but it isn't like important details just a few bits here and there.
SO yeah again thank you for reading, I love you, you're cool and you are beautiful. The third book is gonna be up tomorrow so stay tuned.
p.s - I will clean this book at some point when I can be bothered lmao.
