My 16th birthday was one of the best birthdays I've ever experienced. Though I didn't remember much because when we went home after the party at the club some of my friends brought alcohol along.
The next morning I didn't even remember that it was my birthday the other day, but then I saw my friends asleep all across my bedroom and knew, that they had slept over for a reason.
I tried to gather all my memories and in conclusion, I was surprised how few there were. I knew that I had kicked Oli in the back – unintentionally. I knew that we had some great dinner with lots of sweets and a big birthday cake. And I knew that I got to DJ in front of a properly filled club. People seemed to like my music and that made me happy. There was some hope left that I would be able to proceed my career in this direction.
When I looked at the clock on my nightstand I realised that it was only 8 am and my friends wouldn't wake up until 11 or 12 am, but I couldn't go back to sleep. So I did the only logical thing and crawled out of my bed. I went out into the hallway, closing my bedroom door behind me and made my way to the bathroom to get ready. Soon I had finished my look because I was going to keep my "lazy attire" anyway and grabbed some breakfast in the kitchen.
Surprisingly none of my family members were up, causing me to have no one to talk to. I didn't want to wake them up either tho I went up to the second floor into our YouTube office and tried to examine the footage Connor and I filmed last night. Sage had put my camera right next to the computer and I only needed to connect the two of them.
The first clips from our dinner party were pretty awkward, but I noticed some details that made me smile. My friends chasing after each other. Connor laughing at something someone had said. My dad, my grandma, and Steele engaged in a discussion about politics in South Africa. My mum preparing food in the kitchen with both – my host and my real sister – next to her. Tyler and Troye smiling into the camera. It really was a nice afternoon.
Afterwards, I had handed the camera to Connor and I could clearly see how different his style was though I liked it. There were some good clips of me at the mixing desk, the dancing crowd, and small details, no one else would've noticed.
Suddenly I spotted a rather large file, almost three minutes long and clicked on it curiously. For a while, I wasn't able to see anything but then I did. There were two figures, dancing with one another in the middle of a crowd. A boy and a girl.
Olivia and I.
That could not be true! She would've never danced with me anyway. But who else could it be? There was no other option than her, because of the clothes the girl was wearing and her enormously long hair. How did we end up there? Had I asked her to dance with me? I couldn't remember.
Instead, I tried to focus on the situation. Her eyes were sparkling and she looked at me in a friendly way – though I knew what she thought I was thinking about her, but she didn't hate me at all. Or maybe she acted nice because it was my birthday. She could've also seen that my eyes weren't filled with hatred at all. Who knew?
With every minute, my memories were coming back into my mind. After all, I had invited some fans and we had some nice chats about anything and everything. Alarmed I checked my phone to see that I had tons of notifications. It almost seemed like every person in the world had sent me the same link or mentioned me in a tweet with the hashtag #whoistydesgirlfriend.
I decided that it would be better if I'd watch the video before I try to calm my fans down and clicked the link that was literally everywhere on my timeline.
It was a cute, fan made video, titled "The day I met Tyde Levi" and contained a lot of clips of my party, of me talking to people and the famous dance, I had seen in my camera footage before, but from a different ankle. In the video you could see my face and every expression in it – and even a fool would've been able to tell what I felt for Olivia.
