When I woke up I wasn't in my bed but on someone's couch and that's the first thing that shocked me that morning.
I assumed that the someone, who owned the couch, had pulled the blanket over me that I was now wrapped in and as I observed the room, the couch was standing in, I knew who that someone was.
Tyler.
The guy who flirted with me at the party. That guy who made me feel aware of my sexual orientation that much, that I wasn't even comfortable around my friends anymore. That guy who never had to hide his personality nor his sexuality, because he had always been like that and everyone accepted it with no doubt.
Why was I in his living room? What had happened? I couldn't remember anything.
Slowly I got up and searched for my phone, that was laying right next to me on the couch table. I had got no new notification, so I just scrolled through my gallery, hoping that I would find some pictures that would give me a hint of what had happened last night. But there were none.
Just when I thought about sneaking out of the apartment I was faced by my host, who seemed very excited to have me over.
"Good morning, Connor", he chirped, smiling at me, "I didn't know you were an early riser." I quickly checked the time and realized that was only 7 am.
"Well, I never noticed it myself tho ..." I trailed off, because I didn't know what to say and with every comment the situation would've gotten more awkward.
Somehow Tyler figured out that I was way to drunk to remember anything we talked about last night, but he tried to cover it up.
"I'm glad you are so well - I was slightly worried when I found you last night out on the streets. But you seem to have no hangover at all - you are taking the alcohol better than I would've expected you to. We should go to a club together sometime! Also, I'm sorry for your friends ditching you. Maybe you can figure that out later - I'm assuming you'll leave soon?"
I nodded, still tired and he smiled back at me.
"Okay, but there is something we need to do first!"
My expression must have been full of shock, because he laughed at it with such an amusement, that it took him a minute to calm down.
"Well, we have to tell Troye, silly head", he said.
I still had no clue what he was talking about, so I looked at him furiously. "Tell him what?"
"That we are coming to Australia - obviously!"
Right. Troye invited us to come down. But how would Tyler know? And why did he make it sound like everything was already set? I didn't question it tho, I just accepted the fact that there was a plan and I was part of it.
Tyler quickly grabbed his laptop, to call Troye and I lay back down, to rest for another minute. After he cursed a few times, because Troye was apparently engaged in other conversations, I finally heard the familiar tone of the starting call.
"Well, hello, Mr. Tro", Tyler started the conversation. "Guess what - I've got news!"
I listened to their conversation whilst being half-asleep and only looked up a few times to greet my friend and add a few details Tyler forgot. When I heard them talking about me it didn't sound like the way you talk about your friends.
Of course, I knew that Tyler was only joking, but Troye answered his question in a way I wasn't expecting him to.
"Even if I wanted him to be mine", he said, "we both know he's straight."
