Stephanie's POV
"I'm gonna miss you so much baby girl! Call me when you reach there! and always know that you can come home whenever you want.. it's always open." Mum says as she sobs intot the crook of my neck. I hug her tightly and try to comfort her. I'm not going to be gone forever, it's just that this is an amazing opportunity, and i couldn''t pass it off. Mum understands that. Once i'm finished my course, i'll see where I go from there, but I most likely will come back to Australia, I love it here, and will miss it dearly.
"I'll be coming back! Skype me, and call me whenever we are both awake. I'll miss you so much! You won't even know i'm gone, and i'll be back before you know it." I try to promise her. I can't make sure of anything at the moment though.. i'm too full of mixed feelings. Excitment, sadness, nervousness, the lot.
"I will baby girl, now hurry up! You'll miss your flight!" She wipes her eyese with the back of her hand and pushes me towards the doors. Ava grabs my arm and hugs me so tight, that i can hardly breathe. I struggle a laugh, and hug her back.
"Call me whenever you want! Go have fun! Not too many boys though." She winks. "Jokes, live the college life baby!" She screams and pushes me towards the flight attendent. I turn around to see both the most important people in my life, waving me away, wishing me the best of luck. I'm such a lucky person to have such beautiful people in my life. I sling my carry-on bag over my shoulder and present my ticket to the lady. She looks at my mother and friend in awe, as she smiles and hands me my ticket back.
"Have a lovely flight!" she waves as she erges my towards the tunnel.
This is it. I'm going to America. I smile to myself, confident in my future experiences ahead of me.
-------------------------------------------------
The flight was long and tireing, just as I expected it to be. We landed with a loud thud, which woke me from my on and off sleep. I look out the tiny compact window and see the view of a large airport, with many cars parked along the front entrances, with people waiting for loved ones to arrive. There are people behind me that wouldn't fucking shut up the whole plane ride. They are about my age, and i'm pretty sure have had more than enough to drink. They start to sing the Australian National Anthem in harmony and kick the back of my chair continuously. Her foot keeps kicking my ass, and it's really starting to bug me. I've gotton used to it over the past 23 hours, but it's still incredibly annoying. I turn around, incredibly annoyed and glare at them. I probably look like a bitch, but who cares.
"What's up your ass?" the girl says, trying to act all tough.
"Your foot actually, mind taking it out? Thanks." I reply, rolling my eyes and turing back to my phone. The whole group behind me start to cheer, patting me on my back, yelling 'well done' and 'you rock', i can't help but crack a smile before plugging in my ear phones, and standing from my seat. I head straight for the exit, needing to get to some fresh air. I step out of the plane and breathe in the fresh summer air. This is going to be awesome.
Grabbing my luggage that was passed down to me, I speed walk past all the workers and people on vacation to see if my Dad is here. It's going to be interesting seeing him again since I haven't seen him in years. I don't even know what he looks like. He promised he would be there holing up a sign, to signify that he was waiting for me. I smile at the thought.
The airport is crowded, full of people running around looking for a cab to catch. I try to look like I know where i'm going, but I honestly have no clue. I'm pushed and shoved against others, apologising constantly, it's crazy. One knock inparticular knocked my bag to the ground, letting all my belongings scatter along the floor.
