BAAM! The gun goes off. Reagan stands up so she can see the racers better. The girl from Ellie's relay team, Rachel, is in second place so far. Just barely in her line of sight is Adam. She smiles wickedly while running across the track to talk to him.
When he notices her coming over, he gets an annoyed look on his face. "What do you want Reagan?" He says angerly. She grins.
"Nothing, I just wondered if your brother knows about your love life." Reagan says, a look of pure evil in her blue eyes.
"That's personal," Adam answers quietly. He starts to back away. Reagan wasn't going to say anything else. She knew that if someone said something was personal, it was personal, so she didn't push him.
Out of nowhere, Marcus barges into the conversation. "Oh, his brother knows," He says, giving Reagan the answer she needed.
Marcus is one of the fastest boys in the school. He's also a popular kid.
"Really Marcus?!" Adam fumes. Marcus shrugs and smiles.
"Are you gonna tell Ellie good job when she's done?" Reagan asks, sneering.
"I don't know," Adam says quietly. He turns his head to look at the race. Reagan supresses a laugh. She walks over to an empty spot in the grass, sitting down to watch the runners. Ellie's team is now in first and their third girl is getting ready to take the baton.
Kelsea is rounding the corner to run the final stretch. Reagan stands up, moving towards the edge of the track to see her. Monica is focused and waiting for the right moment to start running. "GO KELSEA!" Reagan yells. Monica jogs slowly out. Kelsea gets right behind her and slaps the baton into her hand. Reagan cheers with the crowd as Monica shoots off like a rocket.
When Monica finishes her first lap, Ellie nervously walks to lane one. She jogs in place to keep warm. Monica rounds the corner running as fast as she can. Everyone in the bleachers erupts into cheers when Ellie grabs hold of the baton.
