*Niall's point of view*
I had been more then surprised in lunch on Monday when Wendy spoke up. I had taught them all how to send the messages and they had the numbers that of their target programmed into their phones. We all decided that the smartest way to do it was for everyone to start sending the messages at different times. It was more likely for them to immediately find out they were all targets if they were getting them at the same time.
I had fully expected Jane to immediately volunteer, but she sat back for a minute and seemed to think about it. And then something happened that shocked us all. Wendy slowly raised her hand.
"I would like to start if that's okay with everybody," She said.
I didn't say anything for a minute and just looked at her wide eyed. Everyone else was slightly taken back since Wendy seemed like she would be the last to want to go. I quickly composed myself, "Well, I mean if you have a plan then, yeah, I don't see why not. Is everyone good with that?"
Everyone one else around the table nodded in agreement and Marcel looked physically relieved that he was not going to be the first to go.
Wendy started to look unsure. "I'm just thinking because I know something about Clare that was my plan to use against her all along and since I already have it all mapped out what I want her to do, I thought it would just be smartest."
She looked down at her hands and I could tell the confidence that she had twenty seconds ago was diminishing, and I couldn't let it.
"No, really Wendy it's great. You are helping us all out by going first. You can start us off and give us something to work into." I was sounding like some sort of peppy friend that always made people feel better and I wasn't liking it too much. But I couldn't be a jerk to these people, and truthfully I didn't really want to.
She sent out the first message and looked anywhere but at Clare. Marcel confirmed to her that she had gotten the message and we all went to eating our lunches like everything was normal. Now that we were starting this we had to try and look extra normal so that we weren't to be suspected.
Wendy never did tell us what she was sending Clare, but through the week I was realize that it must be some pretty serious shit. Clare looked like she could see dead people in the hallways. Her eyes moved around the room quickly and scanned everybody. Who knew you could make someone so paranoid in just a week. I really wanted to know what it was Wendy had over her head, but it was between them right now. If it ever became my concern then I wouldn't hesitate to ask, but I'll let her tell us on her own time.
Friday is the day I have been waiting for. Out of all the things, Wendy did tell us something about her plan. She shared with us how she was going to start the drama in lunch on Friday. It was a simple plan really. She would tell Clare that whatever she was using to threaten her would be spread through the whole school if she didn't do what she was told. It was really a petty type of prank too, almost like Baileys. The similarity made me slightly angry as I thought back to everyone laughing at Bailey. But I felt better that this time it would be happening to Caroline, who completely deserves it. And now instead of water, it was going to be spaghetti.
The image of Caroline covered in spaghetti in front of everyone in the lunch room almost had me rolling. It was absolutely brilliant. My trust in Wendy had hugely increased over these few days. She was a lot more cynical than I gave her credit for.
On Friday, I waited impatiently for lunch to come. I was completely over excited and my foot bounced with anticipation throughout my classes.
When we were seated at our lunch table, I could tell that Wendy was trying not to get too excited over what was about to happen. Although it might not make sense to you, there is this kind of high you get from getting revenge on someone that has torchered you for years. Everything moral is put aside and you listen to what your brain says in the moment. Who give a fuck if it's wrong? It sure is fun.
