Bailey’s point of view

I was looking for something.

I wasn’t sure what, but maybe I just wanted there to be something off in his eye. Something that would tell me why Wendy had told me to stay away from him.

There was nothing.

I threw my backpack onto my bed in frustration. I could slowly feel the anger build up inside of me.

Everything has gone haywire since Niall showed up. I had everything planned out. I had friends that I was somewhat content with. I trusted everyone, but now it seems like everyone I know is against me in some way. Maybe that’s why I keep trying to find some kind of flaw in Niall, but I can’t find one. The only flaw is the fact that he’s making me rethink all of my choices and he’s a pain in my ass.

I tried to concentrate on homework and managed to get the majority of it done, when my phone began to ring. It was Caroline.

“What’s up?” I said as I put the phone to my ear.

“Remember a couple years ago when we watched that movie and wanted to become secret agents like the main characters?” She said, an edge to her tone.

“Um, yes,” I said carefully hoping that I wasn’t saying the wrong thing.

“Well I’m going to need to to put on all black and get to my house as soon as possible. Were going to be spies tonight.” Her tone was still sharp and it only made me wonder more what all this could be about. Whatever it was it wasn’t good, so I just quickly agreed and hung up the phone.

I ripped through my closet as fast as possible and pulled out an all black outfit. From the black long sleeve to my black flats, I looked in the mirror and laughed to myself. Even though Caroline seemed to be taking whatever was going on seriously, I found it excited to know that I was going out to play spy. Hopefully it was an interesting case.

I shoved my phone in my pocket and ran down the stairs two at a time.

My mom stood in the kitchen stirring whatever was in the pot in front of her. She looked up and me, giving me an odd look when she saw my outfit.

She was about to say something when I quickly cut her off, “No questions, I need to get to Carolines as soon as possible. I’ll be back before 10, she just needs me right now. Please Mom.”

She just shook her head and laughed a little, “What I would give to understand the mind of a teenager. My keys are in my purse. Be back before 10 or you better be sure that rights like this will be taken away from you.”

I quickly hugged her and kissed her on the cheek, “Thank you Mom. You’re the best!”

“Yeah yeah, you’re damn right I am,” She turned back to her cooking.

I quickly grabbed her keys and rushed out of the door.

Admittingly I was probably in such a rush not because of my undying friendship towards Caroline, but more because I just hated sitting in my room with my thoughts right now. Getting out to go spy on someone was probably the most interestingly fun thing to happen to me in a while. I just couldn’t wait to see who it was.

It seemed like seconds later I was pulling up into Carolines driveway. I could already see her sitting on her front porch, notably wear all black with her hair tied tightly back. When she saw me pull in she stood and started walking towards the car signalling for me to get out of the drivers seat.
