*Niall's point of view*
I heard a click of a lock from the other side of the door.
I took in a deep breath and stuffed my hands into my pockets as I saw the handle turn.
As it creaked open I was met by a small woman with an apron wrapped around her waist. I could immediately tell that this was Bailey's mother. She had the same tiny build, dark brown hair, and lively green eyes. I could she the momentary shock on her face until she changed it to a warm smile.
"Can I help you?" She asked politely.
"I'm here to see Bailey," I explained.
She tried to look me up and down without me noticing, but I notices. I could help but she her shoulder sag a little. "Are you Niall?"
I scratched the back of my head awkwardly, "Yeah."
"Well come in. I'll go call her down," She moved to the side to let me in.
"No that's okay I can wait out here."
She smiled. "No, I insist."
I just nodded and walked into the house. I looked up at the high ceiling with a large chandelier hanging above me. I followed Bailey's mother through the entryway and we turned into what looked to be a living room. The t was playing some sort of cooking show and you could see the kitchen though an opening in the wall.
"You can make yourself comfortable. I'll go get her," She smiled, leaving me alone in the large room.
I stood, extremely uncomfortable, trying to not think about where I was. I can't believe I did this. I should have just left. I mean she wasn't even worth all of this. Now I was in her house, I just met her mother who probably thinks I'm a freak. I could even see the disappointment on her face when she heard that I was Niall. This was the stupidest thing I have ever done.
I was about to leave when a tall man walked into the room. He was holding the newspaper in his hands and he was wearing reading glasses. He practically dwarfed them. He was built, with clear biceps and a tough face. He even intimidated me.
He looked up from his paper and froze when he noticed me standing there.
"Who are you?" He asked slowly.
I swallowed, "My name is Niall, Sir."
"Why are you in my house?"
"I'm here to see Bailey."
"What do you want with Bailey?" He raised his eyebrow.
"I was suppose to take her out," I looked at the ground.
"What does that mean?"
Man does this guy like questions. "I'm late," I said bluntly.
"How late?"
"About an hour, Sir."
The man, who I was going to figure was Bailey's father, put his paper down and sighed.
"She's not very happy with you, I hope you know that."
"She has every right to be mad."
"You have balls coming in here."
"I just wanted to apologize," I said looking up at him. "My alarm didn't go off and I slept in. It was an accident. I just don't want her to be mad at me."
"Well I can't decide how she's going to feel about it. I've been married for ten years and I still don't understand women." He sat down on the couch and started flipping channels. He looked over at me and I could tell he was eyes my tattoos. I started rubbing my arms, self-conscious.
