Bailey's point of view

Caroline wouldn't shut up for two seconds about Derek. Apparently he never makes enough time for her and instead spends too much time hanging out with the football team. She then went on to complain about the fact that I wasn't listening to her and I didn't care about her problems. Quite frankly, I don't, but I instead apologized and said that I had a fight with my mom. Even though it was a lie, she didn't try to ask me about it. She just went right on talking about herself.

And I went right on ignoring her.

My brain didn't know what was more important to focus on. The fact that I was getting anonymous messages or the fact that I left Niall standing alone in a park.

It's like they went hand and hand at this point.

I knew that I couldn't bring this up to Caroline because that would mean that I would have to tell her that I met with Niall again. That alone would make her flip shit. Don't even get her started if she finds out about the kiss.

I knew the moment I had stepped out of my car that I didn't do the right thing. Hadn't it been obvious? He was standing right in front of me telling me that he was willing to treat me the way a person should be treated. Isn't that what I've always wanted? I always thought that I would be strong enough to stand up to Caroline if the moment came, but now that the moment is here it's more than clear that that's not the case.

There was something I had to do about this, and I had to do it now.

Caroline was looking through the racks in H&M when I walked over to her.

"I'm not feeling to well," I said.

She looked up at me and narrowed her eyes, "Are you going to throw up?"

"I don't know, I've been feeling off since this morning and my head really hurts," I lied.

"Well you better not throw up or anything. That would be disgusting," She turned back to the clothes.

Wow thanks for the concern, I thought.

It seemed like the more and more I thought about the things that Niall said to me, the more and more I realized how much he was trying to help me. Clearly he's been right all along. Caroline treats me like shit and I let her get away with it because she's the key to my social hierarchy.

I'm like a puppet on strings and Niall was the one holding the scissors to cut me free.

"I think I'm going to head home."

Caroline looked back up confused, "Why?"

I sighed. "Because I don't feel well," I restated.

"You just got here though. I haven't finished telling you about all the other shit Derek's been up to. I heard that he was totally flirting with that girl Joey yesterday. I mean, what is he thinking? If he's going to try and cheat on me he should find something that actually looks human," Caroline said rolling her eyes.

I swayed back and forth uncomfortably on my feet. "I'm sorry, but I'm scared that if I stay I'll throw up and I don't want to ruin your day anymore. How about we get together after school this week and go to Panera?"

"Oh! I love Panera," Caroline smiled and she shifted through more clothes, "I guess that would be fine. But it will have to be later in the week. I'm busy."

"Well then just let me know, I guess," I shrugged.

"You know I will, hun." She went to go in for a hug but rethought it and just waved instead. When she turned to look back at whatever she was looking at, I ran out of there like the place was on fire.

By the time I was sitting in my car I was gasping for air, but I stuck the key in the ignition and pulled out as quickly as possible.

As I was driving I knew I was being an idiot. I couldn't help but picture it like a movie scene. I was would drive as fast as I could back to the park and he would be sitting there at the bench. He would have been so heart broken that he was still waiting there all this time. Then I would get out of my car and we would run to meet each other halfway and the camera would be slow motion and we would share a kiss that put out prior one to shame.

Sadly, my cliche movie fantasy was ruined when I pulled into the parking lot of the park.

There was no sad, heart broken Niall sitting alone at the bench.

I sighed and sit back in my car not knowing what to do. I could try and call him, but I would bet that he wouldn't pick up. There was only one other option I had in mind and it was beyond desperate.

I slowly pulled out of the parking lot and I jogged my memory. It had only been yesterday that we drove Niall to his street so I was able to remember where it was pretty quickly. It wasn't too far from the park, actually.

I pulled over in front of one of the first houses on the street and parked my car.

I had a very simple plan as to how I was going to find which one he lived in and that would be to go to each house and ask for Niall Horan until he finally came to the door.

I got nothing until about the fifth house where I had a bit more success.

"Hi is Niall Horan here?" I asked a middle aged woman with red hair that was clearly dyed.

"Um, no I'm sorry there is no Niall at this house, but the name sounds familiar."

"It does?" I asked, perking up a bit, "Well, he's quite tall and has blonde hair that is kind of pulled up and he has a lot of tattoos and dresses in black most of the time."

"Oh yes, those are the new neighbors. They seem like interesting people, sadly I don't se them very often," She explained. "They live in that house at the end of the street."

She pointed to the last house located on what I now noticed to be a dead end road. I thanked her and made my way in the direction of the house. As I got closer I could see the off center shingles and the chipping paint. If Caroline were here she would have chuckled and said that she totally expected him to live in a dump, but now that it was just me and my free thoughts, the only thing that mattered to me was that Naill was inside of that house.

I carefully made my way up the creaky porch steps and hesitantly knocked.

I could hear a bit of banging and rustling until the door was forcefully swung open to reveal a middle aged man who was clearly using the door to support himself.

I didn't know what to do.

"Well what's a perrty lady like ya doin here?" He slurred.

He was drunk out of his mind, I thought as he started to lean closer to me. I couldn't move.

"I'm here to see Niall," I almost whispered.

"Well why spend time with Nail when ya could spend time with me?" He said suggestively, leaning in much too close to me at this point.

My mouth hung open a bit and I was about to tell him that I had to leave when I saw someone quickly round the corner. The one person that I actually needed to see right now.

Niall.

Authors note: OMG sorry I'm mean but I have major writers block tonight so I decided to just give you a nice look into what Bailey was thinking when she made her way over to Nialls.
