*Niall's point of view*

I sat at a picnic table patiently waiting for Bailey to arrive.

After her mom had dropped me off at her house I had made it a point to tell her that we needed to see each other. She had tried hard to convince me that she was busy, but after a while of her lying, she gave in and agreed to meet me at the park.

I don't entirely know why it was so important to me that we met up, but I guess it was just me wanting to finish our conversation from yesterday. It wasn't the sort of discussion that you could just walk away from and ignore. She always tried to tiptoe around the fact that she was ashamed to let people know that we even conversed with one another. I'm not the kind of person that is going to take that shit. I've taken it for far too many years and I'm finally done with being that weirdo that's treated differently. That's the whole point of this year. It's to show myself that I can stick up fro myself and that I can have a little fun at the expense of others. There is nothing wrong with that.

I pulled my leather jacket tighter as the breeze started to pick up. Again, I had to pick a place that was in walking distance since my dad is an ass.

I couldn't help but wonder is she was going to stand me up. She's not stupid. She knows exactly why we are meeting. I wouldn't put not showing past her at this point.

After about five more minutes past of me sitting alone at this stupid ass vacant park, I saw a familiar car pull into the dirt parking lot. It was the same car that Bailey's mom had driven me home in yesterday, and I knew exactly who was driving it.

Bailey stood from the drivers seat and slammed the door behind her.

The fall breeze rustled through her dark brown hair and made her cross her arms around her body. She was wearing a sweat shirt and pair of jeans, but the breeze was still cold.

As she walked towards me I tried to think of what I was going to say to her. Last night I came up with a few choice words that included things such as: "Fuck you", "You'll never change", and the best, "Why would I even waste my time on you." But now that I saw her coming closer to me with her pink nose and small hands rubbing up and down her arms, they no longer seemed like the right thing to say.

"I feel like I'm some sort of under cover cop and we're here to meet in secret to talk about evidence or something," was the first thing she said when I was close enough to hear.

I chuckled, "It would be a lot more interesting if that was the case."

She forced a smile in my direction and looked at her feet. She was shifting her weight uncomfortably like she didn't know what to do with herself.

"Sit down," I said, sounding more stern then I intended as I motion to the opposite side of the picnic table.

She looked up at me and slowly moved to sit. As she was almost rested, she jumped up a little and yelped. I looked at her confused and she blushed sitting back down, "The bench is colder than I thought."

I nodded as if to say "oh".

We sat in silence, her fiddling with the carvings in the table and me just looking at her. I don't know why, but the breeze made her hair look so soft. And the red in her nose and cheeks made her seem so young and innocent.

I snapped myself out of it and got to he point, "You know why I wanted to see you today."

"Is that a question?" She looked up.
