*Niall's point of view*

It was the most terrible thing I had ever seen. Well maybe not the most terrible, but it definitely brought back those horrid memories from when I was bullied. She looked so broken when I was pulling her to my car. I had thought that it would bring me some sort of joy, but it did anything but that. Out of everything I was angry. How could her friend just leave her standing there suffering? If you asked me, that's not what a friend is.

Driving her home was awkward to say the least. I was hoping the whole time that she would say something because I wasn't good in situations like this. I had never had a crying girl sitting next to me alone in a car. And I never wanted that to happen again.

When we pulled into her driveway, I marveled at her house. It was a whole story taller than mine and looked in pristine condition. Mine was a dump with crooked shutters and chipped paint. I made a mental note not to invite her to see my house anytime soon. I was embarrassed.

She tried to leave with a simple thank you, but I wasn't having it. There was something in me this time that made it different. It was almost like it wasn't all about revenge anymore. Like it was about my feelings. But that had to be bullshit because it would ruin everything. I had to somehow maintain an attitude that made it seem like I was in love with her, without actually falling in love with her. And as the days kept passing I was realizing how much harder that was going to be.

This one time though, I let every word spill out of my mouth without thinking. I told her exactly what I knew she wanted to hear. And she fell for it.

When I pulled in the driveway I crossed my fingers and for once in my life wished that my dad would be too drunk to have realized that I took his car again. The only reason I did was because I knew I would be needing to drive Bailey home.

I walked in the house and sighed when I heard my dad snoring on the couch. If he had noticed the car gone, at least I wouldn't have to listen to his shit now.

I pulled out my phone and closed my bedroom door behind me. I quickly texted Bailey and sent a text to Marcel.

Me: I'm home.

Marcel: What happened?

Me: We are going out tomorrow

Marcel: That's great! Where are u going?

Me: I was going to ask you that. I've never really taken a girl on a proper date.

Marcel: Proper date?

Me: I've fucked a couple girls but I've never taken one out. Is that clear enough?

Marcel: Oh. Well I mean you should do something that she will enjoy.

Me: How do I know what she enjoys. We have barely ever had a civil conversation.

Marcel: Well I don't know why youre asking me. Do u think I know about this stuff?

Me: I just told her that I would take her someplace fun.

Marcel: Well now your obligated to do something fun

Me: And that would be..

Marcel: Theres that new putt-putt place?

I grunted at the phone. I don't do "putt-putt".

Me: No fucking way.

Marcel: Well youre the one that dug himself into this hole and I have no other suggestions
