Recovering Death

It's late. I was forced to do this chapter by my friend AtsukoChu . Thanks girl. You're a great polar bear. -.- I'M IN NEED OF SLEEP!

Astrid woke up to a faint beeping noise. Her vision was hazy, foggy. She groaned as she looked over. She expected to see an alarm clock like the one in her old room at her Aun't house. But no. There, next to her, was a heart monitor.

"Just to make sure you're alive and well in there!" The nurse replied joyfully. Astrid groaned again, laced with a scowl. She hated this nurse. She was so... Happy.

"Nurse, I think I'm in need of some... Fresh water. Can you supply some?" She sounded as weak as she could force herself to. The nurse obviously nodded and half-bowed to her. She is so easy to fool. I could kill her right now if I wanted... Astrid mused. This was all she really could do at the moment. They never let her get up, get out, or do anything that requires "too much" movement.

She looked at her blankets and kicked them off. She wanted as much fresh air as she could get. The nurse would come back in and (author is half asleep right here...) put the blankets back on her. She hated it. Hated the heat with a passion.

They changed her bandages often. Sometimes Astrid would scrape off the long scab and they'd have to continue redoing the bandages. It was quite funny, seeing them try to chide her, then realizing she was of higher rank.

She always just replied to the nurses, "It's just a scratch." Then they'd freak out and click their tongues at her. Oh, to her it was merely a scratch. There was nothing anyone could do about it. (Author fell asleep here and woke up at 3 in the morning.)

She looked down at her arm and shuddered. They had to keep and IV in her and it was talking all of her self control to not rip it out and run away from all the syringes. She did not do needles. At all.

Her hand was still in her cast. She had gotten X-rays done and she was proud of herself. She made a very clean break when she broke her hand.

The nurse walked back in and clicked her tongue, "We can't leave you anywhere!" She chides her. It was kind of true, in a sense. She pulled the blankets back up to her chin and patted her head. Gods it was like a furnace in these blankets... She sighed through her nose.

She stopped her movement for today, resting her head on the pillow. After staring at the wall for a few minutes, she looked around her. No one was there at the moment... Maybe this was normal! She looked up at the clock. 3:29 A.M! She hated waking up early. But if that's what she had to do to prove she was all right and to get these needles out of her, then she'd do it.

But even now, she knew she wasn't fit for that. She slipped her eyes off the clock and her eyelids got heavy. Good night world. Good night Diana. Good night Dad. My you rest with the stars tonight. She thought to herself before slipping out of her consciousness.

-Astrid's Dream-
She looked around her. She seemed to be in a camp of some sort. It felt like home... And it felt familiar. But she was certain she'd never been here before. She started to hear voices as well. They were all so happy and content... She looked around her and ran over to a tree, looking up in it. There was some kind of future her... And some person greeting her. Welcoming her to some place. She strained her ears to hear, and managed to grasp the words, "Welcome to Camp Half Blood." That was it. That was where her future lie ahead. But when would her future be put into play? Would it be soon? Later? She didn't look out of her teenage years just then. But she did look almost like it. But maybe... Maybe she should leave. Live in the forest. Wait for the opportunity to leave forever. She plunged into darkness. Her sleep taking over, filling her with exhaustion.

She didn't wake up for a while again. She wasn't going to be constant. Of course, with a little extra something in her IV back, that should help her sleep... Forever. The nurse chuckled to herself as she walked out the door for the night.

"Don't ever think you're alone. Because you're not. But after me, you might want to be alone." She cackles and leaves Astrid to rot and waste away on her bed. She'd be very weak. But the poison wouldn't kill her. No, she wanted to do that herself.

So many people out for Astrid! I know this was kind of a filler chapter... I'm not really happy with it... But I was half asleep most of the time. It is a little shorter than most my chapters, and that's because I'm mainly losing the will to write. I'm just getting bored, and I feel like I'm not entertaining you guys anymore. School just got out though! So yay! I'll have more time to write over the summer, and more time to neglect my book XD I'm so freaking lazy...

But maybe... Maybe we could spice it up. We'll see. Comment any ideas below!

Night my kitties! Or should I say morning... FUDGE I HATE THE MORNINGS. I'M GOING TO BED. NO ONE WAKE ME UP UNTIL 12 P.M!
