GUYS I AM SO SORRY! I KINDA LEFT YOU HERE ;n; please forgive meh?
Time seemed to slow... There was a shift in the air. Suddenly Astrid yowled like a panther, she was closer to the ground. She leapt into the air and the dagger struck her in the side. Blood oozed from the wound. Her eyelids fluttered.
"Run..." She murmured. Kitty seemed to hear, but she saw the sacrifice and she wouldn't leave Astrid here. Not today. Kitty leapt over and shielded Astrid. She grabbed a dagger and started to rip apart the attackers.
Astrid watched. Her gaze became slightly hazy. The next thing she knew, dark splotches were dotting her vision. She past out.
Kitty finished off the attackers. Blood sprayed all over her. All over the trees. All over Astrid. Astrid! She rushed over and looked at the bleeding Panther. This animal was her savior. There was no time to think about that, she had to help her.
From the looks of things, they weren't terribly far from the camp. But they were still far. Only a miracle could save Astrid at this point in time. But there was no such thing as miracles.
Kitty carefully took out the dagger and ripped off her sleeve, quickly binding the wound. Blood quickly soaked the rag, it was slowing, but not stopping. Well, at least it was slowing...
Astrid woke up then. She bit her bottom lip and balled her hands into fists. Her green eyes were dulled. Wait. Green eyes? So apparently her eyes changed color when she shifted into an animal form. Interesting.
Astrid shifted back to her human form, she was the same as she was before she shifted. You know, minus the stab wound in her shoulder...
She looked at herself, her human skin. She smiled and shut her eyes, tears pricking at them. Shape shifting. This would be interesting. This was her life. A screwed up fairy tale and horror movie combined into one. But it was a beautiful one.
She was still bleeding, and Kitty knew she'd never make it back to camp. Then Astrid put two fingers in her mouth and whistled. She dropped her hand to the ground again. What was that for? Kitty was generally confused. Only a miracle could save Astrid.
Well, a big feathery miracle. Kitty figured that out when she looked up, hearing a screech. Glint came and landed next to Astrid, the bird looking deeply concerned. He picked her and Kitty up and flew them to the camp.
They weren't far by bird- errr... Griffin. He made a quick descent. The Hunters crowded around them, seeing a wounded Astrid, they quickly picked her up and took her to the medic.
The medic stared at Astrid's wounded shoulder, she was an apprentice. She'd never dealt with anything severe, so she was petrified to have Astrid as a patient.
Astrid was still losing blood, her makeshift bandage was soaked through. Everyone else left the room, leaving Astrid and the medic alone.
"Don't worry... Just... Do your best..." Astrid murmured. She was barely conscious, her face was paler than normal. She had lost so much blood, if she lost any more, there would be no hope for her.
The medic carefully removed the bandage, her eyes widening to the size of saucers at the gash. It was deep. She grabbed a syringe to slow the blood flow more, which would stop it. As soon as Astrid saw the needle, she hissed.
"Bring that thing near me and I'll-" she couldn't finish, because she past out. The blood loss had finally gotten to her once again. That was a close call, especially for the now frightened medic.
The medic started to work. She stopped the blood flow. She grabbed a needle and approached Astrid carefully, expecting her to lash out at any second. But she stayed asleep. She quickly threaded the needle and number Astrid's arm. She made quick work of stitching her arm, it was very precise.
A few hours later, hooked up to an IV and other medical equipment, Astrid woke up. Her eyelids were heavy, but she managed to look at her shoulder- all fixed. I'll have to go thank Glint later. She thought to herself. That's when she remembered her hand. She looked down. It was a bloody mess.
Astrid whistled and the medic came back out. She held up her hand and the medic clicked her tongue.
"I don't get you. You seem to know a lot about survival." The medic said, grabbing her hand. She got a cast and placed it around her hand. The pain eased, turning into a dull throb.
The medic left again. Leaving Astrid to her own thoughts. Maybe I should go. They know I fly solo... I can't ever find a place. Even here... I don't belong. I don't belong anywhere. I used to, but that's the past. I can't do anything about it. I love you dad...
Those were her last thoughts as she fell into a deep sleep. She wasn't going to wake up for a while.
Guys, I know it's shorter but I've been obsessed with other stories... I've been reading and such. And school, school sucks. It just does in general. I think it'll honestly be worse for the Summer... I'm probably gonna lose the will to write. We'll see. I still love the support, so thank you, my kitties. I hope you enjoy Memorial Day!
