The sun was hot on my back as I ran up the footpath and back into the house. I slipped through the door and up into my room without any signs of my dad. After running a shower and washing my hair I slipped into a pair of denim shorts and my old Soccer shirt.I sat up on my bed and opened my laptop. It's nine o'clock here so it would be about that in England but night time, hopefully Hails will be on Skype.
I connected to it and video called Hailey and then there was a smiley Hailey in the computer screen. I gave a huge wave which was returned.
"Hey babe!" She yelled
"OMG I miss you" I pouted which she returned
"How's your dad?" She asked curiously
"He's a lying little bastard" I said
"Why what happened?"
"He lied to me"
"What'd he say?"
"He said that my mum lied about him coming back" I started "mum said he left and never turned around but he said he came back multiple times all the way up to my fourth birthday"
"Really?" She said in disbelief
"Apparently" I stated
"Well you don't think that maybe your mum was lying" she asked slowly
I glared at her through the screen.
"So you don't think so?" she laughed at my reaction
"No I don't think she'd lie to me" I stated
"Okay then" she sighed
"You think she did?" I asked
"Well mum did once tell me when I was complaining it was wrong for your dad to leave you" she rambled
"Wait why we're you talking about me in the first place?" I asked
"Well I was saying it was wrong for your dad to want to get to know you now without trying to even come back before now" She explained
"And" I waited
"And mum said there were multiple times she saw your dad sitting out the front in his car looking at your door" She said quietly
I didn't say anything just thought, had my mother really lied to me? She told me he didn't love me any more and that he was never coming back no matter how much she wanted him to. My mother lied
"Sorry I have to go" I whispered then closed the laptop screen
I layed down on my bed and thought for a little while more before dozing off to sleep.
"C'mon Bee" Dad said knocking on the doorHis knock woke me up from my deep sleep. I cautiously got up of the bed and stretched then opened the door.
"Hey dad" I yawned
"I'm sorry" he started but I cut him off
"It's okay dad I believe you" I smiled
"Really?" he said, the disbelief showing in his voice and expressions
"Really" I replied
"Well would you like to go our for tea tonight at the pub?" he asked
"Sure" I nodded
"We will leave in an hour cause we'll just avoid peak hour traffic" he said while walking into his own room
