Over the course of the next few weeks I'm nothing but a vessel. He uses my body every night and I continue to take pleasure in the pain, but I know he doesn't really want me. He only wants what I can do for him, what I can bear for him and I can tell that he's angry that his 'work' hasn't paid off.

I've explored the grounds somewhat, getting to know my new home, my new lands. I haven't been to town yet, but I've convinced him to let me go today.

Senna is taking me to buy a new comforter because I've grown tired of using spare blankets. I want something new, something with no previous scent clung to it.

Senna's mate, Griffen, is accompanying us today. Blackwood sent him with us, his one condition.

I can tell that they are in love with each other. Senna said they've been together since high school. They are the same age as me now, 20.

They are always touching and caressing, rubbing their scents together. I wish my mate would show me some affection. He still won't share his food. For as long as I can remember, my father always shared his food with my mother. It shows the pack that the Luna is accepted, but it also shows them that the Alpha will provide for her and in turn provide for them.

"Do you like this one, Luna Wren?" Senna is smiling and pointing to a comforter with flowers all over it. I shake my head. I want something that Blackwood might like too, even if he won't be sleeping under it.

"Do you think Nox would want something that girly in his den?" Griffin is laughing and I freeze. Nox?

"Are you okay Wren? You look like you just saw a ghost." Senna is by my side, caring for me like a mother hen.

"No, I'm fine, it's just... I never knew his name." I'm blushing like an idiot.

"Are you serious?! He never even told you his name?" Griffen is confounded. "What a díck!"

I continue my walk down the aisle. "I don't even think he's ever called me by my name, but he must know it..." He calls me little bird after all.

"Then what does he call you?" Griffen is prying and I blush even more and walk away quickly.

"Come on tell us!" Senna is on me now and I shake my head.

"Please?" Griffin and Senna have blocked me in now and I sigh frustratingly.

"He calls me.... Little bird" I whisper and their eyes are wide.

"I can't imagine him giving you a nickname like that! He's always so serious!" Senna is laughing and I'm turning red all over.

"It's not like he says it on a regular basis." But he really does.... Every night.

"Oh I get it now!" Griffen is laughing like he knows all my dirty secrets as Senna slaps him. "What? It's not like you can't hear them going at it every night!"

"Stop it Griff." Senna is laughing and I think I might look like a lobster.

I don't say another word as I walk off to continue my search.

Twenty minutes go by before I finally find one to my liking. There's a beautiful, foggy forest scene, it reminds me of the woods from my home, my real home, so I buy it on the spot and hope my so called mate doesn't say a word about it.

We stop to grab a bite to eat when I notice a scent I haven't smelled in a while. I can see him, his beard longer, his hair longer, and I smile his way. He seems stunned to see me, or so I thought.

"It can't be..." Senna is whispering, but before I can make a move towards his booth he's out the door and gone.

I wonder what happened. We used to be such good friends. Is he mad that I left the pack? Is he angry that I went along with my packs wants, with their needs?

"Griffen... Was that..." Senna seems distracted.

"I think it was." They both seem speechless and I'm just plain confused.

"Do you guys know Huxley too?" I ask in a small voice and they both swing their heads to stare at me.

"How the hell do you know Hux?" Griffen has my shoulders in a tight grip now and I can tell the occupants of the little diner are starting to feel uncomfortable, so I lead them back out into the chilly air.

"Huxley used to live with my family... At my old pack. He was like a brother to me, but he left a few years ago. He said he wanted a fresh start." I feel as if every word I utter is being sucked into their brains, like they are living off of my words in this moment.

"We have to get back. We have to tell Nox." Griffen mutters to himself after a while and they ignore my questioning looks as they usher me to the car and we make our way back to pack grounds.
