"So, how's it been?" James asked, wiping his mouth on a napkin.

Michelle just sighed, things were horrible. She didn't like keeping anything from her best friend, but the blonde girl just didn't feel like sharing.

"Nothing, life's alright. I've taken up painting, and I think I'm getting better," Michelle replied, angrily stuffing her face with a piece of meat lovers' pizza.

James just laughed, and grabbed a napkin, slowly wiping Michelle's face. They both leaned in, the funny moment turning intense. Michelle looked into James's eyes, suddenly realising what was happening. She coughed and slowly looked away, her cheeks turned a bright shade of red.

'Almost slipped again, I've got to be more careful! He has a girlfriend!' Michelle thought to herself, grabbing another piece of pizza.

James just sighed turning his head.

'If only she liked me back,' He thought to himself, staring off into the distance.

There were a few moments of awkward silence that consumed them – it was nothing new though, the pair found themselves leaning in quite a lot recently.

"So, the studio? You gonna come back?" James asked, breaking the silence that had overcome them.

Michelle just sighed in response, her hands placed in her lap.

"James, things changed for me and now I just don't think dancing is for me anymore," The blonde replied, trying not to lie, but to bend the truth.

After all, the reason she had left, was because of James and Riley, or 'Jiley' as everyone seemed to be calling them.

Yes, Michelle had been in love with her best friend since forever – she couldn't think of a time when she wasn't. But James was always dating other girls and so the blonde was stuck in the friend zone.

But it got worse – James started to date this girl from B-Troupe called Riley, and they were getting pretty serious. Michelle couldn't take watching him every day with her, hugging her and kissing her.

It tore the blonde girl apart.

And honestly, she knew that she would never be able to get over James, and seeing him with Riley was just killing her inside, so the blonde girl left.

Now, Michelle was trying to move on from dance, from James. It felt near impossible, but she knew it was the right thing to do.

"Are you going to tell me your problem?" James asked, snapping Michelle out of her reverie.
