Hi! I worked so hard to finish this in time, so thank you for waiting patiently, and I really hope you enjoy it!

On with the story....

Summary: So I've been obsessed with x-factor fails recently, so this one's about x-factor... :)

"Next up," The administrator called, and Amanda nervously stepped forward, saying her name and her age.

Today was the biggest day of her life.

She was auditioning for X Factor Canada.

Amanda was really excited to show everyone what she had, but at the same time, the brunette was extremely nervous – she never really performed in public.

Quickly receiving her number, Amanda got out of the queue and walked inside to the lounges, sitting on the one closest to the door but farthest from the crowds and their excited chatter.

Looking at the information pack the administrator gave her, she realised that there were only a handful of people before she had to go on and face the judges.

This had been her dream for a long time now, and there was no going back – she had to be confident.

Feeling the nerves kick in, Amanda started working on her breathing exercises, trying to prepare but also calm herself down in the process. Her knees were jumping up and down, her hands shaking.

A gush of air surrounded Amanda as she looked at the door to see a brown-haired boy walk in, holding a guitar.

The brunette felt all the air rush out of her lungs as she peered at the boy in front of her. Blushing as she realised she was staring, Amanda gazed back down at her information pack, her heart still racing.

A not-so-subtle cough made Amanda look up as she saw the same brown-haired boy looking down at her.

"Oh, um, hi," Amanda stuttered, a light blush covering her cheeks.

"Hi," The boy replied, still looking at her, "Is this seat taken?" He motioned to the empty spot next to where Amanda was sitting.

Feeling lost for words, the brunette simply shook her head.

The boy smiled and sat down, balancing his guitar between his knees.

"I'm Noah," The boy said, holding his hand out to shake hers, a small smile on his face.

Amanda was entranced by Noah's emerald-green eyes and chocolate brown hair. A subtle cough jolted her out of it, and she looked to see Noah staring back at her expectantly.

The brunette blushed a light red, slightly shaking her head before smiling back and shaking his hand.

"You nervous?" Noah asked, grabbing his guitar and tuning it, the strings making little buzzing noises.

"Yeah," Amanda breathed out, her hands shaking slightly, "You?"

"Nah, not really. I mean, if I don't get in, it's not the end of the world," Noah reasoned, still fiddling with guitar.

As the words sank in, Amanda felt her hands stop shaking. Noah's outlook on the situation had really helped her put it into perspective.

If she didn't get in, it wasn't the end of the world. She could try next year, and do other things.

"Wow, thank you, I really needed to hear that," Amanda replied after a moment of reflection.

Noah just gave her an easy-going smile.
