On with the story...

As soon as they left, chatter broke out among the crowd.

You could hear people saying:

"Oh my god that was gruelling!"

"I'm not sure I did that part right!"

But the most popular topic was Noah.

You could catch whispers that proclaimed:

"Who knew Noah was a dancer? Let alone that good?"

"Where did he learn to dance like that?"

Some people were just plain confused.

"Isn't he that popular kid?"

It was safe to say that everyone was shocked by the turn of events.

But one thing was sure; Richelle and Izzy were about to have a hard time deciding the team.

~ 15 minutes later ~

The two friends and powerhouses walked back into the gym.

Silence fell upon everyone like a thick blanket. The dancers who were sitting down immediately stood up.

It was time for the most important decision of all – it would decide and seal each one of their fates as dancers.

"Okay," Richelle started, her calm features surprising some of the dancers.

Wasn't this supposed to be a tough decision?

"Again, we thank you all for coming. Those who make it, please come and stand by Izzy and we will have our first team meeting to hash out a few details. Those who don't, I'm sorry but this was a very cut-throat competition and you should be proud of yourselves. Please leave the gym, and the principal has asked that you head straight to lunch."

Everyone nodded, and the dance captain took a deep breath.

"First off, from the girls we have Michelle, Riley, Giselle, Amanda and myself," Richelle ignored the squeals and small sounds of disappointment.

She knew some would be sad but she was confident that this was the internationals team that would take them all the way.

"From the boys we have Eldon, James, West, Max and ... Noah," Richelle said begrudgingly at the last one.

"Thank you everyone for coming," Izzy concluded.

The auditions were over – Richelle was not too happy that Noah was in the team, but what could she say, he would be a real asset to the troupe.

The dance captain waited until the others were out the door, and everyone in the newly-formed team relaxed their excitement.

"Guys, this is the new troupe. This is very exciting, especially going to a competition like internationals. But that means we'll need everyone's dedication and focus, completely. I see some familiar faces from our national's team and I am glad that we will continue our group dynamic, as well as adding some fresh faces to spice things up...." Richelle gave them an introduction before launching into practise and scheduling, as well as a few other minor details.

"Thanks guys, we'll start tomorrow, and we'll get those notes out for your teachers," Izzy smiled.

They had gotten permission from the principal to pull members out of class for practise, because this was such a huge competition. All they had to do was make teachers aware.

It was okay for their grades, because most of the dancers picked had been doing so for quite a while, and they had learned how to juggle the gruelling dance schedule and school.
