Saving A Life

  I vowed that I was going on that mission, so I did. With every single student in the academy. You see, I didn't know it but, they were following me the whole time! I realized that when I was peeking out from behind some boxes and heard some breathing behind me. I turned around only to find all of the students looking at me. Now, the students and I watch Adam, Bree, Chase, and Leo fight, while I'm trying to figure out a way to get in on the action. I look at Bree, who is super-speeding around one of the villains, Adam, who is beating the tar out of one of the villains, and Leo, who is shooting fireballs out of his arm at one of the villains.

  Soon, my eyes fixate on Chase. He is much stronger than I thought. He is using a really cool weapon that looks almost exactly like a lightsaver. The fight is very overwhelming just to watch. I hear a sharp cry of pain and I catch sight of Chase being knocked off his feet onto the ground. My heart drops as one of the villains aims a red lightsaver-looking thing at Chase's chest. I immediately know what is going to happen. Impulsively, I run out into the battlefield and jump in front of Chase, using my bionic voice to shove the villain into the wall.

  At this point, all of the villains are weak and giving up, and Adam, Bree, Chase, and Leo are all looking at me with with extremely stunned expressions. I suddenly realize what I have done. I have revealed my bionics. I am expecting to either be scolded or asked tons of questions, but instead, I get a long, tight, gripping hug from Chase, which stuns me, but I hug him tightly back. Hey. It may be a surprise hug, but it's not like I'm not enjoying it. In fact, I'm really enjoying it. "Thank you," Chase cries. "Thank you! You saved my life! No girl other than my sister has ever tried to do something like that for me, and I greatly appreciate it." I give a relieved sigh and bury my face in his neck. "No problem, Little Genius," I whisper. "No problem at all."
