A beautiful charm that looks like half a heart. The heart is royal blue, my favorite color, with something written on it in white letters. The only words I can decipher are best, and the other word looks like the end of friend. I immediately know that it is a friendship charm. "Oh, Bree," I say, baffled. "It's beautiful!" "I know," she squeals. "And guess what?" She takes another charm out of her jewelry box. It is a red half-heart that makes the words on the other charm easier to understand. It is the beginning of Best Friends. "Here's the other half," she squeaks, excitedly. "You can pick either one!"
She holds up each charm, waiting for me to choose. "Are you sure that you don't wanna choose," I ask. "I'm sure," Bree replies. I look back and forth at each charm and then I finally decide. "Um, I guess...I guess I like the blue charm the best," I say. She smiles brightly and willingly hands me the blue charm. I take it great fully. We each put our necklaces on and put them together to make a full, red and blue heart that says BestFriends. "You're the best, Bree," I say, smiling at her. "I know," she says, playfully. "You are, too."
