Chapter 9

(May's POV)

I woke up with my mouth dry and feeling horrible. I didn't want to wake up, but I wanted to see Skylar.

I forced myself out of bed. I took my shower and got dressed. I told my mom bye and left. I didn't tell Skylar how close we lived to each other nor did I till her I was picking her up this morning. She was only down a block.

I got into the car and texted Skylar "On my way. Be there in 5 minutes to pick you up." I cranked up the car and headed to her house.

When I arrived I knocked on the door. A man answered and judging his looks it was Skylar's dad. He smelled of alcohol. It was wayyyyy to early for drinking. "Hi, is Skylar here?" He stared at me and I shifted uncomfortably. "Who are you?" He asked rudely. "I'm Skylar's friend. Just came over to give her a lift to school." I replied.

He grunted disbelievingly then mumbled "Yeah. You must be her new flavor of the month." He stared at me up and down.

I stood my ground even if he was acting like a dick head. He finally spoke up "She's probably upstairs. 2nd door on the left." I nodded and squeezed past him.

That was hella weird 0_0. I went upstairs and her room was locked. I took out a bobby pin and unlocked it. A hidden ninja skill I had from a while back ;). I didn't see her inside, but I heard the shower running.

I looked around, noticing everything was very well organized. I sat on her bed that was already made. I heard Skylar singing, but it sounded muffled through the door.

I got up and walked closer to the door. I still couldn't hear clearly. I cracked open the door. I heard her singing Unbreakable by Fireflight. I smiled because she had an amazing voice. I never thought a girl like her would be singing something like that.

I heard the water turn off. I ran back to the bed and sat down. She opened the door with a towel wrapped around her. She yelled in surprise and stopped when she saw it was me.

She relaxed and her face softened with a smile."Gosh, you scared the living hell out of me!" I couldn't help but laugh. "I'm really sorry babe. Didn't mean to." Shit! I called her babe.

She blushed and looked away. Well at least I'm not making her uncomfortable. "Did my dad answer the door?" She looked worried. "Yeah. He didn't say much though."

Her worried look faded. She walked to her closet and started looking for clothes. I turned around to face the wall while she dressed.

It was the most challenging thing I had to do in my life. I wanted to peek, but I had to respect her. Plus, I already invaded her privacy.
