CouncilTonka awoke with a slight shiver. He stood and looked at himself in the mirror. He sighed and brushed his hair back with his fingers. He opened the window shutters and curtains. The sun allowed his muscles to ripple. He walked over to the closet and picked out an old shirt that had multiple rips but he didn't care.
His armor was where he left it. He opened the door and looked around. No one was out and about. It seemed incredibly quiet. Tonka slipped out the door and walked down stairs quietly.
His bare feet felt cold against the floor. His muscles where tight. He rolled his shoulders and walked into the main room. Breakfast had been set out but looked slightly cold. He decided to pass on the opportunity to eat.
He turned around and then walked towards the meeting hall. The doors where slightly opened. He looked through and saw everyone that was there yesterday. He tried turning but Lucius say him and ordered him in.
"My lord. You are needed." Lucius sat down and waited for Tonka.
Tonka rolled his eyes. Lord. It had a nice ring but he didn't accept the position yet. He felt he needed to find out more. He seemed to lost.
"Yes. Sire Lucius." He turned and walked in. Everyone was in armor or clean clothes. Then there was the king. In a raggedy old shirt and old pants.
He walked to the high chair at the beginning of the circular table. He stared at it slightly. Then sat.
"Sorry for the outfit." He looked at his shirt.
"It is just fine my Lord." Lucius spoke trying not to touch a sensitive subject. He knew Lord might irritate Tonka. Somehow he caught on to Tonka's feelings easily.
Tonka sighed and sat up straight. "What is the council for?"
"Your uncle. Kofta has been advancing again. We have multiple questions for you sir."
"First off. We must not tell Kofta. He must remain thinking that my father is still alive. He must remain thinking Kia is still ruled by a powerful force." Tonka settled down, he thought that was smart. His first order of business was a smart one. "And second. The troops need to be trained. Trained in the art of Dragon killing. Those beasts will never lay a finger. Once we see them we will take them out. No one can be harmed by these beasts anymore."
"We understand sir."
"Well if that is all then this meeting is dismissed."
"Lord. We are talking about the next royal. After you. We will have no one with true kings blood. You must be wed."
"I can make my own path. I will be wed when I want to."
"Your father would have wanted to continue....." Lucius stopped.
"My father! None of you would know what he was wanting or thinking. Not even Vanessa!" Tonka pushed the chair from behind him. He stood abruptly and clenched his fist.
"Im sorry sir. I did not mean it." Lucius dipped his head as an apology.
"Enough! This meeting is over! I want all of you out!" Tonka growled slightly.
"Son. Please be rational." Vanessa stood slowly and spoke calmly.
"Quiet! You are not my mother! And I am not your son! I don't want to be your son! I don't want you to be my mother! I want my mother and my father! Not my father's pet!"
The room went silent. Tonka was breathing heavily. Everyone stared at his hips. His scar was bleeding. It had seeped through his clothes. He walked out of meeting hall and paused at the door. "I am sorry Vanessa." He left and charged upstairs.
