Chapter 23:
Damon's P.O.V
Three days. It has been three days of pure torture! No one knows where Lily is and now I can't even get through to her parents. It's like they have all dropped off the grid. Their house has been emptied and their numbers cancelled.
"Please God, help me out here. I know I haven't been your biggest fan, nor you mine, but I just, I just can't take this anymore. I don't care if you don't do anything to help me, but please, please, please let Lily be okay and safe." I began praying, which isn't something that I do, but what other options do I have?
Just as I was about to continue praying, my phone began to ring. Hmm, that's strange... The caller I.D was on private so I couldn't know who it is.
"Hello?" I answered sternly, just in case it was Lily's father. I can't be a mess in front of him.
"Damon, it's me..." Instantly I knew who it was.
"Lily! Are you okay? What's going on? Where are you? How-"
"Damon listen," she cut me off, so I paused to let her continue. "Damon, I, I can't see you anymore..."
My heart dropped instantly. What does she mean she can't see me anymore?! What the fuck?!
"WHAT?! WHY?!" I yelled. I couldn't help it, because here I am, scared and worried about the love of my life. Then she calls and tells me it's over? I mean what the fuck, right?
"I'm so sorry..." she began to cry, which made me feel bad instantly. Wait, why would she be crying if SHE didn't want to see me again? Something's not right here...
"Hey shhh... It's okay, just tell me what's going on and I'll help you." I tried to be comforting, but it's hard over the phone.
"You can't help me with this Damon, I'm sorry, but it's over..." She began to cry even harder and I knew she didn't want this. Someone is putting her up to this, but who?
"Just tell me what I have to do Lily and I'll do it, you know I only love you, so please, please don't leave me." Begging her just made her cry more, but I couldn't do anything else but beg, because after she hangs up I won't be able to contact her.
"D-Damon, I'm n-not allowed to see you anymore, because I'm going to marry Harry." She stuttered as she spoke, and I could tell she was upset, but I couldn't get past the last part she said.
"Sorry, what was that again?" I asked, making sure that I'm not going deaf. She took a deep breath, levelled out her breathing and spoke again.
"I'm going to marry Harry." I laughed, she has got to be joking.
"You're funny, but seriously where are you so I can come and get you." I didn't want to listen anymore, I didn't want to believe her.
"Damon, I can't..." She began to sob again.
"No! You're joking aren't you? Right? I mean, you, you're my everything Lily, I, I..." I couldn't continue, no words were coming out. My mind was beginning to spin, my vision started turning blurry, and a single tear ran down my cheek.
"I love you Damon, I will always be thinking about you everyday. You are the only person I wish I could spend the rest of my life with, but I can't anymore. I'm so so sorry..." She sounded so distant. I missed her so much, my heart can't bare this anymore.
"Lily please, please don't do it." I begged her again. I can't imagine my life without her in it, not now, not after everything we have been through together. There was someone else talking in the background, but I couldn't make out what they said.
"I'm sorry Damon, this is goodbye." She spoke firmly, trying to make it sound like she didn't care, but I knew better.
"Lily wait-" she hung up before I could speak.
My life was shattering before my eyes. Everything we shared, everything we did, everything we went through together is now meaningless. I can't find her, and on top of that I can't find anyone else that knows where she would be.
She's completely gone...
Lily's P.O.V
That was the hardest thing I have ever had to do in my life. Saying goodbye to Damon was also a goodbye to Lily, because I'm not going to be my normal self anymore. No, I'm going to be the robotic wife of Harry Winston. Thinking about it makes me want to barf, I can't believe I've been put into this situation!
"See that wasn't so hard." Arthur said with a smirk on his ugly smug face. If I could I would rip his face clean off! I smiled at him in response and he left my room, now that he knows I've ended it with Damon forever.
I felt a crater form inside my chest. Now I really have to be with Harry forever, and there isn't anything I can do.
A knock at my bedroom door brought me back to reality. It slowly opened to reveal my parents. They walked in slowly, cautious not to be too smiling or happy, because we all knew that I couldn't be stuffed with happy right now.
"Lily would you please come and join us for dinner? You haven't eaten in three days." My mother spoke softly, her eyes were red rimmed from her non-stop crying. When I had come home, well to this new house, I was told the whole story. I wish I could just blame my dad for all this, but at the time Harry and I were together, so I understand why he thought it would be fine. I'm not really pissed off at him anymore, but I'm still not happy about any of it.
"I'd really rather not." I said flatly. I don't really care about being nice anymore either, I mean, what's the point? I can't be with Damon anymore and I'm being forced to live a life I don't want to.
"Honey please, your father is really sorry..." She said, while pleading me to come down with her eyes, but I felt nothing. I'm just numb and empty now, my heart and soul are void of any emotions or feelings.
"I don't care anymore alright, just leave me be please." I said in a monotone voice. My mother's eyes began to water again, but still, nothing.
"Come on honey, let's leave her." My father spoke, while patting my mother on the back and walking out of the room together. Once the door was closed, I ran over to it and locked it.
Walking back to my bed, I spun around and fell straight back onto it. I swear these last two weeks have been enough drama to last me a life time. There was another knock at the door, oh now what?! I slowly got up and unlocked the door. Harry waltzed on in thinking he owned the joint and sat on my bed. Then he patted the spot next to him, indicating for me to sit there, but I didn't. I sat on the desk chair across from him, and he frowned at me for it.
"Look Lily, I didn't know about this deal either." Harry said pretending to be innocent, but I knew better.
"Don't try and play dumb, do you think I'm stupid?" I asked while rolling my eyes at him. God he's an idiot.
"Okay, okay," he said while putting his hands up in a defensive way. "I did know, but I didn't think that you would've gotten kidnapped over it. I'm really sorry it happened Lily... And I'm sorry about your arm.." His eyes quickly flickered from my face, to my arm, and back again. I couldn't tell if he really meant it or not, but I didn't care.
"Yeah, yeah, is that all you wanted to say?" I asked trying to hurry him up so I could be alone already. Harry's eyes saddened and he nodded in response before getting up and walking out the door. Locking the door behind him, I walked back to my bed and fell on it again.
Lying there, on my bed looking up at the ceiling, tears began to roll down my face and blur my vision. I closed my eyes tightly, trying to stop the tears, but nothing worked. Turning around on my bed, I buried my head into my pillow and began to sob quietly.
Damon, I'm so sorry, I love you so much.
