Orange Rose - Fascination
We had only been practicing for a few minutes, yet Tsukishima seemed out of breath. "Do you guys need another blocker?" I offered, in the midst of tending to Lev, who was passed out on the floor. I watched as Bokuto hit straights, and constantly passing Tsuki. Bokuto spiked the ball again, this time being caught by the blond. Despite this, Bokuto still got the ball to the other side of the court with ease. Instead of accepting my offer, Kuroo joined in.
Bokuto tried a straight again, but to no avail. Kuroo moved his hands to the side, succesfully blocking the spike. I clapped lightly, and Kuroo flashed a sly smile at me. I wasn't fully listening, but at that moment, Bokuto told Tsukishima his blocks were weak. Yeah, tell him owl boy! The thing is, after every insult they threw at him, he just responded happily. This asshole really knows how to piss me off. Afterwards, a few more of my teammates from Nekoma entered. Tsukishima curtly left, not even acknowledging my existence. He plays dirty, I'll give him that.
Right before I left, Kuroo and Bokuto yelled at me to come back. I sent them a sickly sweet smile, flipped them off, and followed Tsuki back to our room. I suddenly had a change of mind, and ran to practice with Karasuno for a bit. If they are working so hard, why shouldn't I? I entered the gym, and practice alone in an empty court. I've noticed that my setting has been a bit rusty. I asked Kinoshita and Ennoshita to hit some spikes, which they agreed to. The first time I sent the ball over to Kinoshita, it was too high for him. But, Ennoshita's was to low. Taking note of their preferences, we continued. In only a few minutes, I had adjusted to their different needs, having them almost hit every ball efficiently.
After I thanked and dismissed the two wing spikers, I saw Tsukishima walked in. I curiously watched as he picked up his knee pads, and watched everyone else practice. What is he up to? After only a minute, he had angrily walked out. I have to stop concerning myself with him. I noticed our Libero serving against the wall, so I offered to hit his tosses. "That would be great!" We walked back to the open court, getting in position. I tossed the ball, setting him up for the set. He jumped to go set it, and this time, the ball got into the air. But, it barely went up.
"Noya-san, you can't use the palms of your hands like that. Its more of a light push with your fingertips, like this," I instructed, demonstrating. The ball flew straight into his hands. He grinned, and gave me the ball to toss again. I obliged, and he set it properly. I spiked it, relishing in the noise of the ball hitting the other side of the court. We went on with practice, until we were all to tired to keep going. I was one of the first to go back to bed, leaving with Kageyama and Hinata. I felt my eyes become heavy, and I almost fell. Kageyama tried picking me up, but to no avail. He fell back a bit, putting me down. I drowsily walked into my futon, not bothering to change.
-----
In the morning, we all walked to breakfast together. I grabbed as much food as I could possibly eat, and sat down in an empty area. Soon enough, Kuroo, Bokuto, my brother, and several others crowded around me. Why do I seem to attract idiots wherever I go? We finished breakfast, and headed to the gym. Eventually, we had a game with Nekoma. But, not everything went as smoothly as we expected. We quickly lost, 15 to 25. The same thing repeated countless times, and after every game we sprinted up that hill and back. I felt refreshed, but Im not so sure the rest of the team felt the same way. After we had fully cooled down, some of the (cute) managers came in, offering us watermelon. I had grabbed two pieces, and ran outside.
After I had messily eaten my first piece, I noticed Lev had too. He was spitting out the seeds, showing off the Hinata. The small boy tried as well, but wasn't too good at it. I looked around, and saw everyone enjoying themselves. I was sitting by myself, but I was content just watching. Kuroo interrupted my peace, teasing me for having watermelon all over me. I glared at him, angrily wiping it off. I quickly devoured the second piece coming back to Yachi for more. I managed to grab the last one, which I was also teased for. This time, Bokuto was the one who commented. I stared at him as I walked away.
Soon, we were called back in, and put into another game with Nekoma. The same thing happened, and I did a half-asses jog up the hill. The first years stared at me quizzically as I made it down about 30 seconds later. I dismissed their stares, and joined the others.I noticed Asahi complimenting Yamaguchi, so I joined in. "Oh, I agree. You're going to better than me at some point!" he blushed, turning away. Then, Tsukishima glared me down, so I backed away. Jesus, does he really hate me that much? I listened in, and heard Asahi step up, declaring that he won't lose to Hinata. He walked away, and I tagged along.
"You go Asahi!" I cheered. He scratched the back of him head, silently thanking me. I put on hand on his shirt, lightly tugging on it. "Hey, do you think I'll be able to play as a regular soon?" He turned to me in shock.
"Is that what you've been thinking about so much lately?" He inquired.
"What do you mean?"
"You haven't been talking much lately. We've all noticed. Plus, you're probably better than all of us combined. I'm sure you'll get to play as a regular soon," he assured me. I lightly smiled at him, and we kept walking, until we were back in the gym. Next, we played against Ubugawa. I noticed a lack of effort in Tsukishima, which really pissed me off. Apparently Kageyama was thinking the same thing. He yelled at the fresh fry, earning no response. Almost a minute later, Noya and Daichi pulled a Hinata. They ran into each other trying to receive a ball.
But then, as if the heavens has obeyed my wished, we earned a point. There was a gleam in Hinata's eyes, like a strange hunger growing inside of him. He was ready to hit that ball. But instead, he back down. Asahi spiked ht ball, getting past three blockers. It was amazing, a gift from the gods. we lost anyways, and took our last sprint up that damn hill. Tsuki seemed to be out of breath, but I payed no attention to him. If he's mad, I'm mad too. Even if I don't know why.
As we entered the gym, I saw Bokuto offer to practice with Tsukishima. How come they invite him but don't even acknowledge me. I was prepared to give that spiker a piece of my mind, when suddenly Tsukishima refused. Hinata ran after the blond, obviously upset he didn't get invited. Hinata went and complained to Yamaguchi as well. I couldn't hear what they were saying, but it seems to me the topic was a bit sensitive. Yama-chan looked so sad for a moment there, I'd better not barge in. But the sadness lasted for more than I moment.
Are they okay?
