Magenta Zinnia - Lasting Affection
OH my god I am so so so sorry for not uploading for a million months. I have had zero inspiration and things have been really tough lately. Thanks for dealing with me!
I observed how Karasuno was doing. That freaky quick is still in practice, and I'm still jealous. Improvement is the goal, I paid as much attention as I could to the patterns, the actions, and the responses. Observe, take note, repeat. A cycle I would rather not indulge in, but equally as necessary.
Everyone continued to improve, while I stood idly by. I was stuck, forced to just admire. As much I would love to practice and improve, it seems that everyone is so caught up with their own improvement that I can't practice with anyone else. We had a month, just a month.
I knew that I would need to fit extra practice in somehow, but there wasn't much time. We had a game in only a few days and I need to be prepared. Kenma, Kuroo, and I were taking a walk through the neighborhood, until I remembered the volleyball in my bag.
I had finally convinced Kenma to help me at the volleyball court near our house. Somehow, Kuroo got dragged along too, despite many protests and attempts to go back home. Ken complained as much as he could, but I ignored his attempts to back out. We practiced until it was dark, Kuroo forcing us to go back home. "Its getting really late, I'm concerned for your safety. Please just-"
"But you're here!" I interrupted. He groaned, grabbing Kenma by the hand.
"Look, I am going to walk you home. Please cooperate," he urged. I gave in, following him back to our house. "Its important for you to sleep, Kaori. You have a game soon, I don't think your team will appreciate you passing out on the court," he joked.
"Its not much of a problem, considering I never get to play anyways," I whispered. He stopped.
"I'm going to call Daichi-san right now and yell at him."
"Kuroo dont-"
"Its not fair! You're the best player they could've gotten, using you would guarantee a win!" He yelled back.
"Its fine! Its their team, their improvement. Relying on me will only cause future problems," I explained. He muttered something under his breath, and continued to walk. Once we arrived at home, he pulled out his phone. "Testurou-san, please tell me you're not actually calling Daichi-san!"
"I'm not."
"Then what are you doing?"
"I'm texting my mom to tell her I'm sleeping over."
"Why?" Kenma inquired. I stifled a laugh, he didn't seem to enthused with the idea of Kuroo staying over.
"I saw someone following us home, and I want to make sure you two are safe," he whispered. My face fell, no longer amused. I closed the door, and shut the the blinds to the windows.
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that I don't feel comfortable leaving you two alone!" He shouted. His phone dinged again, and his eyes grew wider. "My mom said no. Something about a fancy dinner, I'll have to ask someone else to come over," he said in a panic.
"Asahi." He responded instantly, shakily dialing Asahi.
"Azumane-san, hey! Can you come over to the Kozume house? I'm worried about them. No, they're currently fine. Stalker? Please. Thanks."
"So?" I asked again.
"He'll be here as soon as he can. Please stay safe while I'm gone," he pleaded.
