Chapter 2

Valissa stomps out of the class. That infuriating boy! He really knew how to piss her off!

She stomps all the way to the meeting spot she and her best friend, Kymmer, shared.

She hadn't seen Kymmer in a while because she had been busy with her boyfriend Ryder, who had a daughter, Casie. The most adorable, sweetest little girl she'd ever met.

She mumbles things about how much she'd like to kill Ason in his sleep or just shoot him and get it over with. Either one would work for her as long as she didn't have to have deal with his ass any longer.

"Hey!" Valissa hears. "What's wrong?"

She looks up and there she is, her best friend. "Kymee!" she says throwing her arms around the younger girl's neck.

"Lissa" Kymmer says hugging her back. "What's up?"

"My douchebag partner"

"His name"

"Ason Buchanan" she spat.

Kymmer pulls away. "The dean's brother?" she frowns.

"The WHAT?!" Valissa's eyes widen. She hadn't thought of that! The dean did have the same last name.

"Does he have a twin brother?"

Valissa slowly nods.

"That's him alright"

Valissa growls and throws her hands in her hair. "I hate him"

"What's he done to you?" Kymmer asks with a small frown upon her face, ready to whoop someone's ass.

Valissa waves her hand dismissing it. "I got partnered up with him because our classes have been combined and all he does is ignore me so I had to put my foot down and told him either he cooperate or I seriously hurt him..."

Kymmer bursts out laughing. "Why would you do that?"

Valissa looks at her weirdly. "I need a damn good grade in this class! It's for my overall grade."

Kymmer puts her hands on Valissa's shoulders to calm her. "You are the best artist I have ever known... just breath. You will do great on this project whether Ason Buchanan is any help or not, you'll stick it through and come out on top!"

Valissa looks at her younger best friend and nods her head. "You're right" she runs a hand through her hair. "So..." She grins a little.

Kymmer shakes her head smiling. "No!"

She had noticed now that her best friend was with Ryder she had been happier and no longer miserable.

Valissa giggles and throws an arm around her waist and starts walking to their classes. "Tell me! How have you been? Ryder's been treating you right?"

Kymmer looks down and blushes. "Yes, he's amazing"

"He's so hot and dangerous" Valissa says. "I can't believe the goody-two-shoe Kymmer Scott got a hold of him! Bad boy Baker!" she grins. "Ow ow ow!" she says fanning herself with a giggle.

Kymmer laughs rolling her eyes. "That's my man for you" her smile falls a little.

"What's up?"

Kymmer looks away a little. "Nothing"

"Kymee"

She sighs. "Ryder and I have been arguing a little lately"

Valissa frowns. "Why? Every time I see you, you guys look happy and in love"

Kymmer shakes her head. "Don't get me wrong we are happy and in love..." she shrugs. "It's just that we argue ever since the whole thing with Casie's mom"

Valissa nods her head slowly. "Ooh..."

Ryder's baby momma had dropped Casie off one day Ryder wasn't home to Roxon, Ryder's sister, and just up and left. Said she couldn't be a mom and that Casie was too much work right now so she was Ryder's responsibility now. She had left the same day with her boyfriend and hadn't come back yet. And that was 5 months ago.

Valissa stops Kymmer from walking. She puts her hands on her shoulders and looks up to the slightly taller girl.

"Kymee listen to me! You guys will work it out... the two of you are perfect together. Whether Casie's mom comes back or not! You love each other, cherish that! And don't you say anything about what if he wants someone older." She says pointing a finger at her. "So what you're 20 and he's 23 it doesn't matter, you guys love each other... love is love" she says with a smile.

"What the hell happened to you?" Kymmer asks looking at her with a surprised and shocked look on her face.

Valissa shakes her head. "Nothing!" she says with a guilty smile.

"Spill it"

Valissa shrugs. "I just think it's time for me to settle down and fall in love"

"With Ason Buchanan?" she asks confused.

Valissa's head jerks. "What!? Hell no!" she shakes her head. "No just settle down with someone... who is NOT Ason"

"Mhmmmm" Kymmer says hugging Valissa and kissing her on the cheek. "I'll talk to you later?"

"Of course! We're going to that party Thursday right?" she asks.

Kymmer nods.

"Ok talk you then!" Valissa says walking down to her class a few doors down.

Valissa loved to party! Shit, who didn't? But all she did was sleep around (using protection, of course) and that was something she wanted to change! Be a different person. She wanted a change in her life and that was to fall in love...

But it definitely would not be with some fucking mute, arrogant, prick like Ason Buchanan.
