Willow's POV

“Stay here, I’ll send you a signal when the coast is clear,” I whispered to him.

                “Why?” he asked.

“Why did you bring my necklace back?” I answered and ran to the trees.

                “Willow?” David asked, closer now.

                “David!” I said seeing him.

“I thought I might find you out here,” he smiled walking over to me.

“What gave you that idea?” I asked.

“You used to come out to the lake when we were younger,” he chuckled.

                “You remember that?” I smiled.

“Of course,” he nodded. “You’re all wet,” he observed.

“Uh, yeah. I fell in the lake,” I shrugged.

“Let’s get you back to the palace where you can dry off,” he said putting a hand on my back. Some rare emotion swirled in my gut and I let in a sharp breath. “You ok?” David asked hearing it.

“Yeah,” I muttered. As we walked I concentrated on the water in the lake and made a small pole come out of the water, close to the dock, and hoped Noah got the signal. After I let it drop I thought about his question. Why had I just done that for him? His people were attacking mine. David and I reached the castle and slipped into the kitchen. He walked me up to my room stealthily and we laughed when we got to my door.

“I missed you,” he muttered looking at me.

“Last I remember, you didn’t want anything to do with me,” I replied.

“That was then, this is now,” he replied. “I always did have a huge crush on you.”

                “Yeah?” I asked.

                “Yeah,” he nodded.

“And now?” I asked, curious. “Because, remember, that was then, and this is now. The past doesn’t mean as much as the present.”

“I think I still do,” David said.

                “Interesting,” I nodded.

                “What?” he asked.

“You think you do?” I asked.

“You just got back,” he smiled sheepishly.

“Well, you let me know when you figure that out,” I laughed and kissed him on the corner of his lips. “Good night David,” I said and opened my door.

“You always were the girl that kept a guy wanting more,” he sighed.

“What?” I asked in mock surprise.
