Willow's POV

“Happy Birthday Willow!” everyone called up at me.

                “Thank you,” I replied.

“Hey dad?” David said from behind us. The two of us turned around and waited for him to spit it out.

                “Yeah?” the King asked.

“Mind if I walk the birthday girl down the stairs?” David blurted.

“Not at all,” the King said releasing my arm and stepping aside. David took him place next to me and we started out descent down the stairs.

“Why did you want to walk me down?” I asked.

“I wanted to give you a few tips,” David replied.

“No you didn’t, now I want to real reason. You’ve hardly spoken to me since I saved Noah, when you do speak to me you interrogate me or yell at me, and I was gone for about a week and you don’t even say you’re glad to see me?” I asked looking straight ahead.

“Willow, I’m really sorry,” David said.

                “No you’re not,” I replied.

“Yes I am,” David whispered. We reached the floor and were disconnected from each other. I was swept off towards the dance floor while David was left behind to follow. The first person to step up was the king. I curtsied and he bowed and then I placed one hand on his shoulder and the other in his hand. Together we danced around the floor until someone stopped us. It was David. The king stepped aside and David took his spot.

“I am glad to see you, you have no idea how worried we’ve been,” David said as he spun me around the dance floor.

“What’s made you change your mind?” I asked.

“Willow, you went missing for five days, that’s what made me change my mind. I didn’t want to be mad at you for something you did to save someone else. Even if I hate the guy you saved,” David replied.

“Mind I cut in?” Jerold asked stopping us.

“Go ahead,” David said moving away.

“So, are you ready to get them together?” Jerold asked.

“Yeah,” I nodded. Jerold started to pull me towards the back when someone touched my shoulder. I turned and saw Cal standing there.

“Hi,” Cal said looking at me.

                “Hi,” I replied.

“Can I have this dance?” Cal asked.

“Can I give you a rain check? I have to go do something for a few minutes. I’ll be back very soon,” I said.

“Yeah, sure,” Cal nodded. Jerold pulled me away from Cal and towards the doors.

“I’ll get Noah, you get Jonas,” Jerold said. I nodded and went to find Jonas.

“Jonas,” I said when someone came up to me. He removed his mask and smiled at me. “Come on,” I whispered grabbing his arm and leading him away from the beverage table.
