"So what can I get you?" the waiter asked looking back and forth between me and Cal.
"Um I'll have a cheeseburger with the works on it," I told the waiter. "And a lemonade," I added quickly.
"And for you sir?" the waiter asked once he was done writing my order down.
"I'll have what she's having but with a Diet Coke," Cal said shooting me a grin. He hasn't changed one bit.
"Alright, I'll be out soon with your food," the waiter said and left us.
"So, how was college?" Cal asked after a moment of silence.
"Fantastic! I loved it there and everyone was really nice. I met some fae, some wizards, a genie, a couple witches, and some shape-shifters," I smiled. "Mostly people were human though," I added. "But the classes were amazing and California was warm and sunny and gorgeous. Well Southern California was. Berkeley was foggy a lot of the time but sometimes I'd make it sunny if I was in a good mood," I grinned.
"It sounds like you had a lot of fun," Cal smiled.
"And what did you after high school?" I asked him.
"Not much. I went to school in Massachusetts and got my Bachelors in Biology and I've been home since then," Cal replied.
"Anyone in your life right now?" I asked.
"Would I be out on a date with you if there was?" Cal questioned reaching over and taking my hand in his.
"I suppose not," I replied blushing.
"I'm sorry for what happened all those years ago Willow," Cal said after a few moments.
"What?" I asked confused.
"I'm sorry I cheated on you. I honestly didn't mean to I promise. I was drunk and she looked like you and I honestly thought she was. It wasn't until the next morning when I was actually sober that I figured it out," Cal said sincerely.
"Cal I told you I haven't been mad for a really long time about what happened it was 6 years ago. Let's focus on the present ok?" I offered.
"That sounds amazing thank you Willow," Cal said kissing my hand.
"Here's your food," the waiter said causing us both to jump. "Sorry," he smiled.
"It's completely ok," I told him releasing Cal's hand so the waiter could place our food down. When I saw the burgers my mouth almost started watering. "Those look heavenly," I said staring at them.
"And they taste as good as they look," the waiter said. "If you need anything let me know my name is Lee," the waiter said politely.
"Will do Lee thank you," Cal replied. Lee left us and I turned my attention to the burger resting in front of me. "Bon apatite," Cal said watching me stare at my burger. I didn't need to be told twice. I picked up the burger and took a huge big.
"Oh my god," I moaned out with my mouth full. The burger was spectacular. The meat was cooked perfectly. The middle was a light pink and was nice and juicy. The lettuce and tomatoes were crunchy and the ketchup was subtle but still slightly noticeable. And the cheese was melted onto the beef perfectly so that it was mixed with the beef's flavor.
