Noah's POV

Willow. She’s different from the other Fae, different from any girl. So different I couldn’t see to get her out of my mind for the past two weeks.

“Noah! Are you paying attention?” my best friend Jonas asked.

“Sorry Joe,” I sighed looking at him.

“You’ve been spacing out ever since we attacked Oridoor. What going through your head?” he asked looking at me.

                “Nothing,” I replied.

“Noah, I’ve known you my whole life, we went to college together, and then you were gone for a year when you took an extra year at USLA. There is something up.” Jonas said to me.

“What did you think of that girl?” I asked.

                “Which girl?” Jonas asked, interested.

                “The faye,” I replied.

“That crazy bitch that shot lightning at us?” Jonas asked.

                “She’s not a crazy bitch,” I sighed.

“She seemed pretty crazy to me,” he laughed. “But, what about her?”

“I’m just thinking, how did she manage to get on that rescue team? She’s a girl,” I replied.

“You saw how powerful she is,” Jonas replied.

“She doesn’t seem so bad,” I replied.

“Noah, what are you thinking?” Jonas asked.

“Just that she’s not like normal Faye, she’s got a lot of anger for a normal faye,” I said.

                “So?” he asked.

“You’d never rat me out, right?” I asked.

“Thanks for the vote of confidence,” he sighed.

“Sorry,” I replied, “But no one can find out about it,” I said.

“I’d never rat you out, under any circumstances,” Jonas said to me.

“Okay, I went to Gamebridge,” I said looking at Jonas.

                “What? Why?” he asked.

“That girl, well, she dropped a necklace and it landed in my pocket and I felt I had to return it and I got to talk to her for a little,” I explained.

“And?” Jonas asked. “Did you steal her heart or some of that crap?” he asked with a laugh.

“No, but I kinda think she took mine,” I said cheesily,

                “Really?” he asked laughing, hard.

“The Gamebridge prince came looking for her and she let me go without telling him I was there.” I said.

“Wow, really?” Jonas said getting serious.

“Yeah. I think I’m going back there tonight,” I stated.

“Well, if you want to get there before midnight, you should get going. It’s a thirty minute ride to Gamebridge, and you have to find the girl.” Jonas said looking at his phone for the time.

“What time is it?” I asked.

“Eleven forty-five. About,” he said looking back up at me. I got up, grabbed my phone off of the table and hit Jonas on the back as I ran by.

“Thanks man!”  I called before darting out the door. I grabbed my horse from the stables and rode towards Gamebridge. I went to the lake looking but no one was there. I heard voices coming and went into the shadows.

“It’s good having her back,” a male said.

“Yeah, I’ve really missed her.” That voice was female. The two voices came into view. Who were they talking about?

“It’s going to be harder to hide our relationship. Willow hears and knows everything. She’s been here for two weeks, knowing how fast she is, she probably already knows and is waiting for us to confirm it,” the male said. They knew Willow!

“Would it be so bad if she knew?” the girl asked. I had to find a way to get that girl alone. I found a good sized rock and threw it in the direction of the castle. The boy stood up and looked around.

“You stay here, I’m going to go check it out,” he said to the girl and left. After I was sure he was gone I went over to the girl.

“Excuse me,” I said in a quiet voice. She spun around and stared at me in shock.

                “You’re a shifter!” she said.

“Please, I need to find someone,” I said looking around nervous.

“Who could you possible need?” she asked glaring at me.

“Your friend Willow,” I said quickly.

“What do you need with Willow?” she asked standing up.

“I need to tell her something,” I replied.

“I could take a message,” she glared.

“It’ll probably get her in trouble, so tell her when the two of you are alone. Tell her Noah says thank you for helping me. I owe her one,” I said.

“What did she help you with?” the girl asked.

“That’s for her to tell, not me. Thank you for not screaming and taking that message. It means a lot,” I said and heard footsteps coming towards us. I ran back into the forest and watched the boy come to a stop in front of the girl.

“What’s wrong June?” he asked looking at where she was staring at me.

“Nothing. I thought I heard something. Can we go in? I’m getting creeped out,” she said looking at the boy.

“Of course,” he said and led her away. I sighed both in relief and frustration.
